This is my first OS on Aditya and Pankhuri. I hope you like it but feel free if you think there are improvements needed... I will welcome all criticism.
The story starts with Aditya and Pankhudi out on picnic; they walked to the top of the hill and the story starts from there…
Two people sat side by side staring at the spectacular view of Manali; Aditya sat hugging his knees into his chest slightly angled to face Pankhudi whilst she sat in prostration position gazing ahead. A half-smile played on her lips and her eyes were alight with joy as she stared ahead drinking in the beauty.
Instinctively Adi reached out and lightly grazed Pankhudi's hand. Pankhuri turned her body slightly. Her head turned and their eyes met, one's was questioning and the other was apologising.
"I am sorry" Adi tentatively began. Upon seeing confusion in the depth of Pankhuri's eyes he explained, "That day I should not have spoken such harsh and bitter words to your grandfather. I really regret it, I really do."
Pankhuri enveloped his hands into both of hers and in a soft voice began, "Adityaji that is not the past. Let us forgive and forget. Both of us are to blame and I cannot thank you enough for forgiving me. You are a good man Adityaji."
She brought her hands back to her lap and looked into his eyes. Adi was taken aback by the sincerity in those eyes and he was suddenly overwhelmed with a feeling of warmth and satisfaction. Reluctantly their eyes parted and they stared ahead in companiable silence drinking in the sight.
Pankhuri looked down at her watch and got up. She said "Shall we go Adityaji?"
Adi replied, "Sure." He then got up his hand resting on the grass for support.
They started down the hill, Pankhuri slightly ahead of Adi.
"Ah…" Pankhuri had stepped on a patch of mud and her shoe had slipped. She closed her eyes expecting to feel the hard ground hitting her with sheer force. Instead she felt a hand hold the top of her back and she placed her foot down gaining her balance. She looked up to see handsome blue eyes.
Adi had caught her..
Both stared at each other's face mesmerised. She looked into his eyes which were laced with tenderness and concern. Slowly she got back up and his hands reluctantly left their position.
Pankhuri then said, "Thanks." Her voice was filled with gratitude.
Adi replied, " I am sure you would have done the same for me, wouldn't you?"
And because of that one statement Pankhuri nodded and averted her gaze demurely.
