Hello Everyone,
Here is the next update. 😛
Chapter 88
"I still don't believe this", she said, hugging him.
"I wouldn't believe it too", he said, "But that's the truth", he said, happily.
She continued to hug him and he hugged her back. After a few minutes she pulled back and said, "After a long time, there was no tension or worry in that hug. There was no fear of leaving your arms and there was no fear of losing you", she said.
"And after along time, I see you smile, happily", he said.
"That I will now! I'm so happy today", she said, smiling like before- the time before Anurag stepped in, to create ruckus in their lives.
"I love you", he said and kissed her forehead.
"I know I know", she said, smiling naughitily.
"Geet", he said, softly.
"Maan, I want to go and meet your family and my family, now!", she said. "Lets go!", she said, jumping out and standing straight.
She adjusted her hair and Maan carefully observed her, and smiled. She looked calm, unlike before and her energy and childishness were back again- something he had complained of, every now and then, but also loved her completely for it.
While he continued to look at her, she was under the bed, trying to pull out her shoe that was way, under the bed.
"Maan, help karo na. I cant reach this", she screamed and he suddenly came back to his senses.
He bent from over the bed to see where the shoe was. IT was closer to the other side and Maan rolled his eyes.
"She's finally back, because she stopped thinking", he thought and he simply walked to the other side of the bed and bent to reach the shoe. He saw Geet staring at him from under the bed and pushed the shoe in her direction and smiled sarcastically.
"What?", she asked.
"Geet, how much I missed this", he said, smiling slyly.
"Missed what?", she asked.
"Your stupidity", he said and she opened her mouth wide in shock and anger.
He started laughing and then continued, "I mean, seriously Geet- All these days I missed your foolishness, stupidity, your ability to not think at all, and your amazing capabilities to complicate matters even in the simplest of the situations", he said, laughing louder than before.
"Mr. Khurana", she screamed, "Phir se thaana shuru ho gaye?"
"Haan, ab tumhari bewakoofi shuru to mere thaana bhi shuru", he said.
"I hate you", she said and tried getting up, not realizing that she was under the bed. She hit her head and screamed, "Ouch!" and left the shoe and massged her head and Maan continued to laugh, "There you go! You prove it everytime"
"Oh what ever!", she said, finally getting up and wearing her shoes. "I got off the bed this side so I tried to pull out my shoe from here".
"This bed, my dear Geet", he said, getting up and walking towards her, while pointing to the bed, "Has two sides. You could get off from the other side too and easily reach the shoe".
"No, your hands are just long", she said.
"Geet, apart from my hands and legs I tend to use my head too, and simplify things", he said, grinning.
"haso mat", she said, with her cheeks turning pink in anger. She then turned to walk away.
"Accha suno", he said and she screamed back, "No, I'm not listening".
"Geet, listen, where are you going?", he asked.
"None of your business", she said and walked out of the room. Maan ran behind her and tried to stop her, but she was too fast and was already in the lawn.
"God, she's impossible", he said and went behind her but realized he did not take his cell phone and ran back to the outhouse.
While checking his call log he realized that Geet's parents were in the mansion and they were not aware of Geet being in the outhouse. They were all in the assumption that Geet was in the Handa house resting. Only Dev knew that Geet was in the outhouse with him.
"Oh God! Great!", he thought, quickly grabbing his phone and running to the mansion as quickly as he could.
Everyone had finished breakfast and were seated in the living room. While they were talking about the wedding preparations and some other general stuff, Daadima suddenly said.
"Arey kisi ne Geet ko good news diya ki nahin?"
Brij answered, "Nahin Daadiji, Geet aaram kar rahin hain, Niharika ki shaadi ke baad bechari bahut thak gayi thi. Jab hum ghar jayenge tab batayenge", he said and Geet stopped at the entrance of the living room.
"Oh man, that is why Maan had stopped me, from coming to the mansion now. No one knows I am here. Gosh, its not even an hour since they agreed and I've already broken rules", she thought.
"Arey Geet!", screamed Kiara and Geet had no choice now. She had no where to run or hide. "
"What would she tell everyone? And where the hell is Mr. Simplifying Situations with his common sense", she cribbed.
"Di", said Heer and came running to her, "We were just thinking of you!
"I know", she said and Maan who stood right behind her right now, wanted to hit his head to the wall.
"You already know?", asked a confused Heer. "How come all of a sudden you are here? You said you wont come".
"I meant what else would you people have to discuss apart from me. I'm the only interesting person, in this living room right now", she said, winking.
Maan cleared his throat loudly and walked ahead of her, to where everyone was seating. Geet could feel his sarcasm even in that throat clearing and made a mental note, "Geet, you have to kill him someday".
"Oho you girls, stop interrogating her so much and let her come in", said Daadima.
Geet smiled and walked in and hugged Daadima.
"Glad you could make it for breakfast, Geet. Wait I'll ask Naintara to get some breakfast ready for Maan and you", she said.
"Daadima, I had breakfast in the outhouse", he said.
"Ohk, Geet will have breakfast then", said Naintara.
"No, I had it too", she said and found her parents confused.
"Kahan?", asked her mom. "Tu to ghar pe so rahin thi. Aur Devanshi ma ne breakfast nahin kiya aur kuch banana se mana kiya. tune bahar kiya kya breakfast?"
"Ji haan mamma", she said. Maan smiled and so did Dev.
"Oh you should have told us too
Geet "bhabhi"", he said, emphasizing on the words "bhabhi" for the first time, in the last few months he had known about Maan and geet. Both Maan and Geet were shocked to hear that. And Geet seemed to blush a little too at the call.
"We would have joined you. Afterall, no one here is as interesting as you are, so our breakfast would have been very exciting", he continued and she blushed red in embarrassment.
"Nahin nahin, main yeh kehna'" and Dev cut her, "Oh c'mon bhabhi. You don't have to give us explanations and to be very honest, aap aa gaye to ab thoda josh bhi ayega, iss boring and slow morning mein:, he said and winked.
Everyone laughed and Geet frowned.
Finally after some more general talk, Brij walked to her and said, "Geet, we have a good news for you"
Geet did not say anything. Though she knew what was coming she did not want to take away their happiness by letting them know that she already knew it. She was happy to see all of them smile and look at her eagerly for her reaction.
"Ji Veerji", she said, softly.
"Geet, we've decided to get you and Maan married. All of us have accepted Maan. That's why we are here today- to speak to daadiji about the wedding", he said, and smiled.
Geet immediately asked, "Devanshi Daadi?"
"Daadi does not approve still. I'm sure she will-eventually! Just give her sometime", he said.
She smiled weakly at the determination of her Daadi. Everyone had agreed except her- and she was the one, who had big dreams about Geet's wedding.
She always told Geet- "Hum teri shaadi dhoom dhaam se karwayenge. Aur sab kuch hum akele hi sambhal lenge- tumhari maa aur papa aaram se bait sakte hain".
She said nothing. She wished her daadiji had agreed to this alliance too and accepted Maan. But like Brij said, maybe she needs some time to come to terms with things that have happened.
She got up and went and hugged her mother and father, happily with tears flowing out of her eyes. Heer went and joined the hug too and kissed her sister's forehead. "Di, your wedding".
Geet burst out crying unable to still believe that finally it was all settled. Everyone in the living room got a little emotional looking at Geet, they knew what she had been through- first the humiliation and hatred from Maan, then her grandmom's restrictions, then Anurag!
Maan, too felt a little guilty as he re-collected Geet's first day in the mansion. "How could I be so mean?", he thought as he re-collected how he got her tickets to S'pore cancelled. He then brushed off the thoughts and smiled happily to himself, " how would I get such a wonderful woman in my life had I not taken that step. I would never know Geet if she did not come to the mansion. And today, she's mine and I am only hers".
While the Handas took some time to fresh up and spend sometime together in the guest bedroom on the first floor of the mansion, Daadima and Naintara went to make preparations for lunch. Kiara settled everything in the guest bedroom and made sure the Handas were comfortable.
Maan and Dev were in the lawn outside. Maan looked blankly at the mansion.
"Bro!", said Dev, softly, knowing Maan was through some turmoil too.
"Yes", he said.
"Relax! its all fine now", he said.
"I know. And I realized I was the one, who started all this", said Maan.
"meaning?", he asked.
"I created a storm in her life. She went through so much because of me, and for me", said Maan.
"Bro, had you not done that, how would you meet such an amazing woman? How would you know what it means to smile, to be happy, to love? how would you know that there existed a world apart from your corporate world? How would you know the sweetness in the non-sense talk, silly fights and arguments and then making up for all the time lost in anger and arguments?", he asked.
Maan only smiled not saying anything.
"Bro, you did harm her, despite that she painted a beautiful picture of your future with her. You know why? Because she loved you to that extent and she loves you more than anything on this planet. Your humiliations and hatred did not stand important for her, in front of the love she had for you. She had the confidence that one day even you would realize how much you loved her and she was right. You did realize and I know you will never let her go! "
"I was unfair to her", said Maan, softly.
"Bro, you "were" unfair to her. But you "are" not unfair to her. Make up for all the pain you think you gave her. You have all the time on the planet now to do that, considering the fact that very soon, she will be the one- with whom your days would start and end".
"Thanks Dev", he said, hugging Dev.
"No, you shouldn't be thanking me. I should be thanking Geet for coming into your life. I thought I would be deprived of the opportunity of using the word "bhabhi", cos you were so not interested in the institution of marriage and I had given up hope".
Maan smiled and patted Dev's shoulders back, hard. Dev laughed too. "So Veerji, finally you laughed. Ab main jaake dekhta hoon mere bhabhi ji kya kar rahe hain".
The Handas were downstairs by the time Dev walked back to the mansion.
"We have to go and start the wedding preparations. We will only have lunch and dinner and all that, after Geet steps in to this house as your bahu", said Geet's dad.
"Geet, is already our bahu. So, you can have lunch with us too and only leave after dinner. All of us can spend some time together. Itne saalon ke baad iss ghar mein shaadi ka season hain and there are so many people in the mansion- makes me feel so happy and excited", said Daadima, smiling happily.
"Par hum kaise raat thak yahan reh sakte hain? " asked Geet's mom.
"Arey kyuin nahin auntyji?", asked Kiara. "Ab koi arguments nahin. Aap yahin rahenge aur dinner karke ghar jayenge"
"Arey Geet samjhao na, tumhaare sasuraal waalon ko", said her mom, teasingly.
"Geet kya samjhayegi? Geet tuo yahin rehna chahti hain. Yahan matlab outhouse mein", said Dev, walking in.
Geet raised her eye-brow wanting to smack Dev while Kiara and Dev hi-fived each other.
"Nahin Daadiji hume ghar jaani chahiye. Devanshi Daadi bhi akele honge. Hum aate rahenge ab tuo", said Geet.
"Haan, maa akele honge", agreed Geet's parents.
"Ab hum kya kahenge?", said daadima, "Ok your wish". Geet hugged Daadima, Naintara and Kiara. She said "bye" to Dev and he said "bye"
too.
They were about to leave the mansion when Geet turned back and surveyed the entire living room and the stair case and the corridor that lead to the dining room and other rooms. The Handas and the Khuranas were already near the car, laughing and talking loudly. Not having found him, she was a little sad and turned to leave, when she found him standing in front of her.
"Searching for me?", he asked, softly.
"Hmmm", she said. "I am leaving now".
"Only to return to this mansion as my wife- Geet Maan Singh Khurana", he said, happily.
She smiled and quickly kissed his cheeks and ran away to the car.
Maan smiled and turned back to look at her get into the car. He leaned against the pillar with his hands folded across his chest. She got into the car and looked at him. He pulled out his cell-phone and texted her.
"You are the sun in my day
the wind in my sky
the waves in my ocean
and the beat in my heart..."
She blushed as her phone vibrated. She knew it was a message from him. she did not want to check it now. Her cheeks had already turned pink and she wouldn't be able to hide her blush. She looked at the intensity in his eyes and looked away, unable to look into those eyes that spoke volumes and told her to come back to him, right now. He continued to stare at her until the car, left the mansion and the huge iron gates of the mansion closed.
Maan continued to stare at the huge iron gates as though expecting them to open again, only to see Geet's car drive in.
That's it for now! I'm excited about the next update too. Lets see what;s in store!!!!!! 😆😆😆
