Meghan marriage---fairy tale or deception?

According to Paulo Coelho " At every moment in our lives, we all have one foot in a fairy tale and the other in the abyss." It seems that Mohan Bhatnagar is experiencing his fairy tale of "living happily ever after" with Megha , with the fear that every round of the "pheras" is pulling him deeper into the abyss of his guilt conscience of concealing the truth about his marriage to Ridz from Megha. But as George Bernard Shaw once said "All great truths begin as blasphemies."---and according to society what Mohan Bhatnagar did tantamounts to blasphemy indeed------ but little does Monu know that , "the discovery of truth is prevented more effectively, not by the false appearance things present and which mislead into error------but by preconceived opinion, by prejudice." So I feel that, being the honest guy that he is, Monu was already in possession of divorce papers signed by Ridz before the marriage rituals (which would explain Ridz bare "maang" and neck), his apprehension may be generated by his guilt at concealing such a big truth especially from Megha n Induji---- but in my pov , even if the truth had come out it would've been misinterpreted in different ways based upon preconceived opinion and prejudices of society , creating more problems than peace for Monu. I loved the way Monu tried to catch Megha's attention with the little hissing sound and stood in front of her head bowed for var maala------symbolising that he had surrendered himself into Megha's capable hands ( I don't know if you guys noticed, but that scene transported me to another memorable marriage that I'd witnessed at another time and another magical couple ----sigh ! ) Addu trashing Mohan's shoes suggests that all is still not well between them and there are still issues to be resolved ------ I guess we might look forward to some Papa –son bonding in the future . I felt really bad for Guru today-----the poor guy got a slap for trying to protect Monu . What puzzles me is ,why Mr. n Mrs. Vyas didn't speak to Induji regarding the Meghan marriage----I distinctly remember Sarojji saying that she would personally convince Induji regarding her "daughter" Megha---so what happened ? It seemed that Renu's restlessness to see a "tamashaa" was only surpassed by Induji's motherly intuition urging her to hurry lest her beloved Monu was in some trouble. Waiting eagerly to see whether Induji's love for Monu will win over her hatred for Megha -----and keeping my fingers crossed that the truth is stronger than the fiction that the CVs churn out !

Even I liked his gesture of lowering his head. It is like giving respect to another person. But how come he got divorce papers so soon?? Even if he procured docs signed by Ridz even then court has not finalised the divorce in which case he is still committing bigamy. 😕

I liked when he lowered his head. Anyways yeah, same question as Mamta. How could he have signed the divorce papers? I so wish if he actually did. Phir toh, at least, shaadi illegal nahi hogi...

Very well written!!
If he had the divorce papers then why would he had said something like "Pata nahin shaadi ke vaade nibha paaonga ki nahin"?

Mohan said to the Vyas' to believe in him and he will be with Megha all through when the Vyas' had gone to his house. So I guess they left it at that.

Only the CVs know the reality or maybe even they don't know.

I hope the CVs come with some formula to redeem Mohan's character. I understand that everybody is trying their hardest to get the TRPs, but just hoping that the cost of getting the TRPs is not a very high one.

Thanks guys for your comments--- the divorce papers thing is just wishful thinking on my part as I'd hate to believe that the Mohan Bhatnagar we know would willfully deceive the woman he loves more than anything in the world.

A marriage of convenience with a divorce clause built in quite prevalent in the US. The divorce date is pre-fixed and its like a post dated cheque that you can encash at the appropriate time. If you were to talk to any Las Vegas marriage attorney they would refer you to various Prenuptial Contracts ('prenupts' for the initiated) which have a Sunset Clause incorporated within them. The Sunset Clause automatically ensures that the marriage contract ceases to exist after a prefixed date which could vary from a week to a month to even up to a year. So I agree with you, Geetian, that its possible that Mohan and Riddima may have entered into a Prenuptial Contract with a Sunset Clause and in that case neither is Mohan's character under question nor is MM marriage illegal.

My only wonderment is that folks in Joona Mohalla in Indore would be aware of such contracts and enter into one - why, some of my cousins in Mumbai and Delhi are not aware of such things?!!

Very well written ...much needed after another depressing episode yesterday...
"So I feel that, being the honest guy that he is, Monu was already in possession of divorce papers signed by Ridz before the marriage rituals "
I so hope what u mentioned is what the CVs have up their sleeve to salvage Mohan Bhatnagar's character and the situation they have gotten themselves into, however illogical it may sound.
Something like how he had a copy of the CD which again was never shown explicitly...
Well, my desperate attempt to remain positive...

Thanks Geetian for this post. I totally agree with you. You have used your words but the emotional response of my mind and yours seem just the same.

Bigamy, Blasphemy are very strong words. I don't like them being used for the Mohan Bhatnagar!

But ... As the show has shown it and as society, we all as fans, we look at it, those words are not misplaced.

Riddhima's returning of MS to Mohan, is perhaps like her signing the divorse papers. Yes, I understand that emotional response completely and agree with it. Though the socio - legal matters are far from being that simple and quick. Hence, the upset over MM wedding and over Mohan not disclosing to Megha is a very normal reaction.

Yeh, once again I am in the state of Darmyaan. I never knew this song track from NBT would fit to describe such a painful situation as this. :-(

I too have a wish / hope (once again darmyaan) that Indu who was shown to have reached mandap and sees Mohan tieing MS to Megha and shouts 'Monu ...' & Mohan stops.

CVs stopped there yesterday. Oh TRPs!

But today I seriously wish and slightly hope, Indu after some open ranting on Mohan in the mandap will accept that finaly her dear son was getting married to his love.

I want that her anger is mainly about Mohan kept her in the dark and not too much about her disapproval of Megha. Let her love for her son, his happiness be stronger than her illfeelings for Megha.

The words like bigamy are too big, too cruel. The women in the life of Mohan Bhatnagar have been abnormally unkind to him.
Indu doesn't consider him to be matured.

Rashmi ditched him.

And Megha ... Well she is the most special ... series of fights and arguments and blames, A slap, refusal of his proposal - time and again - by very impolite methods, dragging him on the streets, ... Oh, too many.

Even Riddhima is no different she gave her dad false information that Mohan likes her.

Megha has taken too long a time to accept his love and to agree to love him back. Had there not been such a behaviour from the women of his life, Mohan was not likely to get tagged with such strong words.

I understand he did a mistake and did a Big one. But he alone can't be held guilty. Megha, Indu, Riddhima, Riddhima's parents and Vyas parents are also party to it.

So I wish Mohan be give the chance to live, to discover the love in togetherness and happiness with Megha - and kids.

Lets see what cvs have for us.

I was too happy to see Mohan shaking hands and half winking at Addu. :-) A lot of emotional work from Mohan will be required to bond with Addu.

In yesterday's and day before's episodes I felt that Addu is feeling left out in the wedding. Nanhi is getting her due share of attention and what a gem Ashnoor is. Loved her dancing. She is a real show stopper, charm and innocence of NBT. But Addu, partly due to his reluctance and partly due to no one bothered to have done something about it before the wedding perhaps chose to sit alone, feeling left out... I don't like it.

Hence, Mohan's gesture of inviting him to his house with Megha was a good one. I loved the moment they shared. Addu must have felt very important that time.

Thanks again Geetian.

Nice post .
I too hope Mohan has something up his sleeve like the earlier CD ..and since they are showing such trash, let them show some trash for restoring
some positivity in track

And regarding you reference to another lovely couple getting married ...yes , I too remember that lovely couple and the lovely moments , especially in the 'good" days of the show...

Cheers !
