According to Paulo Coelho " At every moment in our lives, we all have one foot in a fairy tale and the other in the abyss." It seems that Mohan Bhatnagar is experiencing his fairy tale of "living happily ever after" with Megha , with the fear that every round of the "pheras" is pulling him deeper into the abyss of his guilt conscience of concealing the truth about his marriage to Ridz from Megha. But as George Bernard Shaw once said "All great truths begin as blasphemies."---and according to society what Mohan Bhatnagar did tantamounts to blasphemy indeed------ but little does Monu know that , "the discovery of truth is prevented more effectively, not by the false appearance things present and which mislead into error------but by preconceived opinion, by prejudice." So I feel that, being the honest guy that he is, Monu was already in possession of divorce papers signed by Ridz before the marriage rituals (which would explain Ridz bare "maang" and neck), his apprehension may be generated by his guilt at concealing such a big truth especially from Megha n Induji---- but in my pov , even if the truth had come out it would've been misinterpreted in different ways based upon preconceived opinion and prejudices of society , creating more problems than peace for Monu. I loved the way Monu tried to catch Megha's attention with the little hissing sound and stood in front of her head bowed for var maala------symbolising that he had surrendered himself into Megha's capable hands ( I don't know if you guys noticed, but that scene transported me to another memorable marriage that I'd witnessed at another time and another magical couple ----sigh ! ) Addu trashing Mohan's shoes suggests that all is still not well between them and there are still issues to be resolved ------ I guess we might look forward to some Papa –son bonding in the future . I felt really bad for Guru today-----the poor guy got a slap for trying to protect Monu . What puzzles me is ,why Mr. n Mrs. Vyas didn't speak to Induji regarding the Meghan marriage----I distinctly remember Sarojji saying that she would personally convince Induji regarding her "daughter" Megha---so what happened ? It seemed that Renu's restlessness to see a "tamashaa" was only surpassed by Induji's motherly intuition urging her to hurry lest her beloved Monu was in some trouble. Waiting eagerly to see whether Induji's love for Monu will win over her hatred for Megha -----and keeping my fingers crossed that the truth is stronger than the fiction that the CVs churn out !
