I understand anandi was not calling them because she didnt want bhago to worry about her situation and the divorce etc...

but I dont understand why anandi did not call them to tell them of her award, of her accomplishments and achievements -- her b.a. degree; her sarpanch job; her honours from the C.M. -- each and every stepping stone would have told her parents that she was not just sitting in a dark kothri and crying ... or that the singhs had not turned her into a housemaid (which is what her mother had said they would do eventually) -- her mom and dad would have been so happy that anandi's position in the home was still at an elevated level, and that she had set goals for herself and pulled herself out of the muck that the whole turn of events had shoved her into.
