Chapter 11

It took Rey a second to response. But he got back on his feet just on time. He made a run towards Taani to stop her from meeting Swayam. He slid in front of her, making her take a step back.

"He-Hey Taani!! So good to see you again!"

Taani gave a side-slopped smile and replied back. "Same here Rey. Now if you'll excuse me, I have some work to do."

She was about to go around him when Rey came in her way again. "Ofo Taani. You've just gotten back. Spend some time with me too! We all know whom you want to see. Come on, let's have an early coffee and have a talk about your trip."

Taani insisted upon saying no and took a round around Rey to not find Swayam there anymore. Rey took a sigh of relief seeing that he was gone. Lucky for everyone' Swayam had seen Taani talking to Rey or rather Rey stopping Taani and he had made a run for it right then!

Taani made a disappointing face when she didn't see him there. Rey made a smile and said, "What are you waiting for? Come with me!" And he took her to the canteen.

Swayam hid behind the pillar as they both passed. Rey glanced there and saw him there. He told Taani, "I just remembered something important. You go to the canteen, I'll be right there."

Taani gave a shrug not much bothering about it and continued on her way. Swayam peeped out to take a look and then sighed seeing her walk away. His brown narrowed as he wondered where Rey had disappeared too. Just then, a hand tapped his shoulder and he jumped up in surprise, turning as if he saw a ghost.

He then caught his breath back seeing its Rey. Rey himself got scared seeing him jump like that. "Oh! It's you'! Hey!"

"Hey my foot! I've been trying to tell you that she comes back today but you and your flowers vs. chocolates!!" Rey blasted at him.

Swayam made a sorry face. Rey quickly forgave him and asked, "One thing I know for sure, you would never worry much about giving flowers or chocolates to Taani. Let alone that, you won't give her anything. So' who were they for huh?"

Swayam made a shy face, knowing that Rey knew but was just pulling his leg. He regained his emotions and stammered a reply back. "It's nothing like that!! See, they were just for Tambe (the canteen boy). It's his birthday today so I thought to give him something. You know, poor guy, serves us food all the time. So just thought to give him something nice."

Rey laughed at his reply in his heart but continued teasing, not letting it show on his face that Swayam was terrible at lying in a situation like this. "Oh really? What a nice thought! Come on, let's go. We'll give him flowers together. I'll wish him as well."

Swayam pulled out of Rey's hold. "N-no! That's not needed. Kriya- Kriya's looking for you. I'll-I'll give the flowers and chocolates to her-I mean him."

Swayam shut his eyes by the end. It was getting so hard for him. Rey finally ended up laughing his bottom away. Rey looked at him and he replied, "Rey!! My dear, dear friend. You're just so terrible at lying!!! Seedhe seedhe bold eta ki Sharon ke liye hai! Ek jhoot chupane ke liye sau jhoot nai bolne padte! We all know you've started liking her! And by the way, Tambe's birthday was last week."

Swayam made an 'O' face remembering that. They had celebrated it in the canteen. And then put his hands on his waist. "You knew all along I was lying?! Sharam nai aati dost pe haste hue?"

"Dost hai isiliye toh hans raha hu. Varna someone else would have digged my grave in the ground by now!!" Rey replied just as cheekily.

They laughed and Swayam started walking. Rey pulled him back and he asked, "What?"

To which, Rey replied, "That way is the canteen. And Taani's there. If you still wish to go' then I won't stop you'"

Swayam made the turn abruptly. "No thank you!! I don't want a kabaab mai haddi! Need to find Sharon ASAP! Agar kisi aur ne use bata diya na, toh I'll be history!"

"Don't worry. Kriya's with her and she'll be with her all the time. She won't find out till you get the chance to tell her.

He gave a relaxed smile and with his eyes, thanked Rey for always looking out for him.

The girls were walking up the stairs to attend their class. Sharon was getting annoyed by Kriya, who was stopping her from finding Swayam or Rey. She kept on asking 'why' and Kriya continued to distract her with one thing or another and never let her leave her. She was aggravated after few minutes but kept up with it not knowing what had overcame Kriya for her to be acting this way.

At last, they crashed into Rey and Swayam. Sharon gave a sigh of relief and pulled Rey to her side and between her and Kriya. "Rey, handle your girlfriend!! Don't know what's wrong with her since morning. Saying all the weird crap, behaving like a stranger. Better get her checked by a doctor."

Kriya opened her mouth in 'o' formation and gasped. "Stranger? Doctor?! O God, I had to live to hear my sister say all this about me?"

Sharon replied instantly, "Oh stop it Kriya. What's wrong with you? Acting so un-Kriya like."

Rey watched in amusement, clearly seeing that Kriya had managed to distract Sharon all the while acting different. Swayam stepped between the three and pulled Sharon to his side.

"Okay enough now. I've seen enough craziness for months to come. We're getting late for class. Let's go."

He pulled Sharon with him to the other side. Rey called behind them, "Oh hello! The class is this way!" Swayam was taking Sharon the wrong way and Sharon was fuming at Kriya to realize that. Swayam stopped in his track at being noticed. He had hoped neither of them would notice and he could take Sharon to fire escape to have a few minutes along with her.

He bit his lip and then turned around, even Sharon had realized by then. "Uhm actually, I need to show Sharon something very important. You both go to class and cover up for us, we'll be right there."

Rey and Kriya understood but Sharon objected, "But Swayam, you can show me whatever it is after class. Right now, let's attend the class na."

"Sharon, you're not understanding. This is more important. Come on." Swayam replied and pulled her with him fast, ignoring her protests. He let go of her hand for a brief second while he shut the door of fire escape. She stood on the stairs asking.

"Sharon, ye kya hai? What are you doing?"

"Shh." He put his finger on her lips to get her to be quiet for a while. Instantly, she was taken aback in a trance and her body sent shivers down her spine with his one touch. He realized that and awkwardly took back his hand.

He looked around and then decided to start talking to avoid the situation from getting any more awkward. "Actually, I wanted to spend some time with you' Wanted to tell you something."

She nodded urging him to go on; already forgetting about the awkward moment. "Well, I want to give you something."

She nodded with her eyes wanting him to continue, not understanding why Swayam was blushing and being hesitant! He slowly reached behind him and pulled out the roses he had bought for her. Seeing them, a bright smile appeared on her face and she knew just what he wanted to tell her.

"I-uh-I wanted to give you these'" he said cutely.

Slowly, she forwarded her hand and accepted it with a blush creeping up on her face. "Um' thank you?"

He smiled back and continued, "I-uh-there's more'erm'I like you Sharon' Since the day you've came back, I remember our friendship. I don't know if I love you but I do know that what we share' it's not just friendship. Uh'will you give us a chance?"

She didn't have to think about this at all. She already knew her feelings towards him. He was one of the main reason she was back after all. And the time they had spent in the months since her return, they had been magical for her. She had just been waiting for him to say it!

So what if he didn't say 'love'? He was ready to give it a chance and she was ready to give it as long as it took! She simply nodded bit a closed grin her face, tears almost building up their way in her eyes.

Seeing the nod, his face lit up just as much as her and he held her hands taking her by surprise. She hadn't thought he would get such excited.

"Oh Sharon, I'm so very happy! I really do like you a lot. Oh yes I do!"

Saying this, he took her up in a hug, again surprising her. She replied back to the hug and they parted a while later. Both of the completely happy with this new advance and really looking forward to make this new relationship between them work at all time.

But is that what destiny had in store for them? Someone had made an entry in their lives. Whether it was for good or bad, only time would tell.

For now, Swayam pulled her down and they both sat on the stairs and chatted away, simply sharing their thoughts on things and enjoying the time together. Neither of them was worried about getting to class. No one even missed their presence. Both of them being CS and ACS, it was a good excuse they had: work.

Though there was one person who was eager to meet this new ACS, for whom Swayam was skipping classes. She stood by the side of the fire-escape, peeking through the time space between door bars. Seeing the two together, her heart toughened and she made an ugly face; determined get him and make life a living hell for Sharon. She glared at laughing Sharon, thinking ill things about her. This girl was none other than Taani'

More on Taani will be in next update... Now I had asked on previous page if you guys want Nicole to play the role instead of Taani... No one replied so left it as Taani... if there's replies this time on whether Taani or Nicole, then will change from next update on :)
