I always thought that more than not believing in love, he was scared of love and that's why it took him so long to admit his feelings to Khushi.

Admitting that he loves her and expressing it to her, means he is opening himself up, and allowing himself to get hurt. For him life is easier and pain free, if you don't admit you love someone.
If you pretend you don't love them, then it means they can't really hurt you. But the moment you admit that you love them then they have the power to hurt you, as only the actions of those we care about can really hurt us.

I guess that's why he finds it hard to be nice to her lol, as he's scared she might not want him or that he might do something wrong and will lose her, so in his head it's easier not to get too close to her in the first place.
