Why do you think India is lagging behind in the production of clean, green and sustainable energy?

yes it is. Forget about "clean, sustainable and green", enough energy isnt being produced to keep the cities going.
we have 3 hours powercut everyday in our State, and 12 hours powercut in the rural areas.

During the June month, I had to go visit family in Chandigarh where the temperatures were extremely high (around 40-45 degree Celsius during the day) and to make that worse there seemed to be some problems of power cuts in the state. Luckily, it was not much of the problem in the area I stayed, but I read that there were power cuts for 8-12 hours in some areas 😲 And the reason for the sudden power cut was "rise in demand for power this season" which honestly is silly. Officials said that the unexpected us of air conditioners and coolers during the hot summer season have lead to rise in demand for power. I mean comon! what you didn't expect people to use air conditioners in the scorching heat of the summers? Also, it looks like two power plants in the state has shut down which has resulted in lack of power, which is really sad. Something should really be done about the lagging energy production in our country.
I have read about how some states in the south including Tamil Nadi have built wind mills to obtain power through wind every, and the power obtained from the wind every is suffice for the state. I think the other states should follow their example and obtain power from renewable sources of energy like solar, wind and tidal energy instead of relying on the usual ones. Also, we have a lot of resources but we're still lagging in the power production because of lack of machinery, which can be resolved, if looked into.. I hope there is someone who is looking into these matters and something is done about it in the near future.

The story is pretty much the same everywhere around the world. Many think Nuclear energy is much hazardous. Especially after the Jap disaster. The wind energy generation is cumbersome and inadequate considering the huge demand and its dependence on natural factors. The technology is yet to evolve fully. A lot of cynics oppose the process for their own selfish reasons. I guess there is a long way to go beforehand for such goals to achieve.
