DESTINED TO LOVE.
"arnav bitwa'" His Nani's voice called out to him as he came down for Dinner.
"Yes, Nani" He responded, coming down the stairs, buttoning his sleeves.
"Beta, I want you in my room after dinner, there's something that WE want to talk to you about'"
"Yes, Nani" He obeyed, though making a confused face, lining his forehead and twirling his lips a little, since he was pretty unsure of what was it that Nani wanted him in her room right after dinner, and not just that, but the WE she said, and which he stressed upon himself, when recalling Nani's words, felt awkward to him' " "there's something 'WE' want to talk to you about" ".
He kept thinking about it throughout dinner, even though he had no idea what it was about, he had this GUT GUT feeling inside him, telling him, whatever it was, it was definitely something he wouldn't like. He sighed, and started with his food, when others were almost half done with it.
Arnav knocked on the door, it was slightly open, he could see Nani on the bed and Anjali to the side, but that's about all he could see, just when he heard the voice of her Di say "Come in, Chote"
He immediately had a klutzy feeling as soon as he entered.
He saw Di, Nani, his Jeejajii, Mami, Mama and Akash in the room, and he was sort of shocked.
"Whats up, Everything ok!?" He asked making a face, and a little concerned.
Akash broke out in a chuckle, by mistake, and he went like "What the-!" he exclaimed, since everyone looked serious.
Anjali smiled. "Sit here, Chote"
She continued, "Well, you know that we went to Gupta Uncle's house for the rishta'"
Arnav inadvertently sighs in relief, "Yes yes, is there some work for the wedding that needs to be done?" He says casually, taking his phone out of his pocket and typing in.
"Chote, when did we say that Payal ji aceepted the proposal?"
"He keeps the phone on his lap. "What do you mean? They don't have a reason to refuse' especially not her" He says shrugging a little moving his head a little in a little disbelief, recalling how he had seen her eyes Full of love for his brother, Akash. Just as soon as he was about to say how he knew that she couldn't say No, because he knew she loved Akash, Akash interrupted, to save himself from the embarrassment, and he said, "Arey, Di, mat darao bhai ko, he is already busy, Yes, they've said yes, and we want the marriage to take place as early as possible" He says, hurriedly, panting a little. As soon as he finishes, EVERYONE in the room looks up to him and goes "OH REALLY?"
He widens his eyes, in disbelief to whatever he just blurted out, and in fail attempts to save himself, says " Im sure they'd want to hurry things up, so that it doesn't drag, and as they say, 'why make good things wait for long'' " He says, smiling, trying to hide the red cheeks.
"Haste also makes WASTE, my son" Arnav says, while getting up, a slight smile on his face, he takes his phone and is walking out, when Akash couldn't control, and says, "Please Bhai.." in a whisper, which ofcourse doesn't hide from his brother, Arnav smiles and leaves, "Is the date decided?" He asks, peeping into the door again, Shyaam answers,
"That's what you were called here for, Saale sahib, we have to go to their place tomorrow, to decide, and since they've been back from Mumbai, we've went to their place just once, and that too just for the Rishta"
He sees Akash pleading him from behind Jeeja jii, joining his hands together, with his actions, he seemed desperate, "You have no cure, brother" Arnav whispered to himself, shaking his head at his brother's desperation.
"Fine, I'll be home early, im not really needed, but'"
"Hello Hi Bye Bye Arnav Bitwa, Why u not needed babhua?, you are his big brother hoigava'" Mami insists.
"I'll be home early" He repeats, and walks out, into his room.
"Jijiii" Khushi exclaims.
"What happened Khushi, why are you screaming?" She asks, interrupted by Khushi whilst she was day dreaming.
"They're coming tomorrowww..." She teases her sister.
Payal just smiles and shrugs her thought off.
Khushi and Payal were the only daughters of Shashi Gupta and Garima, they loved them like anything, their terms with the Raizada family were very old, and very good, except, their children didn't have the time to mingle with each other much, except for during childhood, that too, not as such, they did remember playing with each other. The children remembered vague memories of playing with each other.
How NK and Khushi would ALWAYS be a team, because they were really close, and he was the only person she was in contact with, she remembered how Arnav Singh Raizada would ALWAYS be her husband while playing house, even though they were never close with each other, Payal and NK, somehow managed to convince them to being the Mum and Dad, she was going to see the WHOLE family after 10 long years, except NK, who'd pay a visit to Mumbai every now and then, through whom, the Raizada family would see pictures of celebrations and stuff of the Gupta family, that is how Akash just fell for Payal, and started to talk to her' somehow managed to find her.
Since the family left for Mumbai almost 11 years ago, a lot of stuff had happened in the families, and the lives of their children changed somehow or the other. The Gupta family weren't poor, but they weren't as rich as the Raizadas either, the Raizadas were WAY more wealthier than them, but that just never came between them
"Maa, I would wish that '. Ah' tha' that, 2 sisters from the sam'. Sa' same house and fami'ly come to our house as bahus' Same family, with a lot of genuine appreciable upbring'ing' I.. ah ah'. I want you to have my boys' ah Akash and Arnav, married to very suljhi hui, honest' nicely brought up girls, Maa'"
Nani just cried, and nodded her head, holding her bahu's hands as she spilled those last words out of her mouth, with much difficulties, pain evident on her face, body trembling as she took her last few breaths. And she was gone.
Arnav twisted on his bed, an uneasy feeling.
All these years he was quite relaxed, he knew HE wouldn't fall in love, and Akash didn't seem to either, so it somehow meant marriage wasn't on cards, but now, since Akash was all up for marriage, it somehow scared him. These words' These words from her dying mother' WHY does he remember them when no one else did? Obviously his mother wasn't serious, she was senti and very protective of her sons, that is why she must've said that, plus, she just PREFFERED they got married in the same house, not that she WANTED it'
Right? He asked himself.
Ok, yes, so here it is, i know its HELL LONG, it might be boring, but believe me, the minute details were sort of important, the background and all, it was, yes, the updates from here on shall be shorter =)
