Scene 20
'Anandi kya hua beta? Aap bohot pareshan lag rahin hain' asked Hansa.
Anandi had knocked the door. It was 11:00 AM. She was hesitant to go to Hansa's room but she had no other choice.
'ji voh..Anandi hesitated
'Shiv ji ka call aya tha..
Hansa looked on waiting for Anandi to continue
'Wahan college main, jis ladkay kay baray main complain kernay gaye thay, us ladkay nay Neel ji per goli chala di hai'' Said Anandi
As soon as she saw Hansa turning pale white she added quickly
'Lekin voh teekh hain.. bilkul teekh..'
Hansa moved her mouth, trying to form words.
'voh Hospital main hain. Shiv ji unkay paas hai aur Ikshu ji ghar aa rahe hain. Doctors nay kaha hai ki khatre ki baat kuch nahi hai kiyunki goli kandhon ko chu ker nikli thi' Said Anandi
As Hansa tried to collect herself , Anandi took her by her hand and made her sit down. She quickly then poured some water for her from the jug that was placed on the dressing table
'Abhi ikshu ji aathay hi hongay' Said Anandi giving her time to think
Anandi took Hansa downstairs and they entered the living room. Anandi saw Shamita walk in. She turned and looked at Hansa trying to silently communicate and find out a way to break the news to her.
Just then Ikshu had walked in and Anandi heard a loud gasp behind her
'Ikshu kya hua?! said shamita as she rushed over towards him. There was blood on his shirt
'Ma, voh papa''
'Kya hua thumharay papa ko' asked Shamita frantically
'Ikshu ji aap andhar jayiye aur dress change kar lijiye. Main inhay batati hun' said Anandi rushing over to Ikshu and indicating him to not waste time
Anandi narrated the incident to Shamita
The earth seemed to have disappeared under her feet as she fell on sofa loosing her balance.
'Shamita' Cried Hansa'
'm'mujhe unhe dekhna hai bhabi.. Abhi'mujhe jana hai'
Anandi knelt besides Shamita
'Ikshu kay papa bilkul teekh hain. Meri baat hui hai shiv ji sey. Aap please apnay aap ko sambhaliye. Agar aap is tarah pareshan hongi tho Neel ji ko kon sambhalega' Said Anandi trying to reason with her
'Han shamita, shant ho jao. Ikshu chalo main aur Shamita bhi chalengi thumharay saat' said Hansa
'Lekin Dolly?' asked Shamita
She knew that Naina was out of town and shravan had gone to pick her up.
'aap iski bilkul chinta mat kariyega. Main hun ha. Dolly ko le lungi school sey' said Anandi
'Ma voh papa ke liye kuch kapday chahiye. chotay- bhaiyyah nay mangwaya hai' Said Ikshu
Shamita ran to her room to prepare for the visit
Meanwhile Anandi turned to Hansa
'Main ishika ko sambhal lungi. Usko shayad college main hi pata chal gaya hoga' Said Anandi worried thinking about Ishika
'Agar voh hospital aaye tho aap Ishika ko ghar bej dijiye ga'
Ishika would blame herself for what had happened. Anandi thought it would be best if she stayed away from the hospital
Ikshu and Shamita came back hurriedly into the living room and quickly left with Hansa
Scene 20b
Ishika had returned from her college and Anandi, who had been waiting for her knew at once that the news had reached her.
'Anandi ji..! Ishika ran towards Anandi and hugged her.
'S'sab meri galthi hai. Meri wajay sey chachu ko aaj..s..sab meri wajay sey' She cried
'Ishika shant ho jao. Aapkay chachu teek hain. Abhi meri aapkay bhaiiyah sey baat hui thi.' assured Anandi
Ishika continued to cry as Anandi made her sit besides her. Nothing that she said did much good.
Anandi then called shiv.
'Hello Shiv ji.
'aapkay Chachu kaise hain abh?she asked
'Voh bilkul teekh hai. Doctors nay kaha hai ki raath thak hum inhay ghar le ker aa sakthay hain' assured Shiv
'Shiv ji , Ishika bohot ro rahi hai. Aap please unhay samjhayiye' said Anandi
'Ishi.. kya hua ?, thum ro kiyun rahi ho? said Shiv once he heard Ishika's sobs on the phone
'bhaiyyah.. voh' she sobbed
'Dekho, chachu bilkul teekh hai aur thum bilkul fiker math karo. Sabh kuch teekh ho gaya hai. Hum sham thak ghar aa jayengay' Said Shiv
Ishika's sobs lessened as she heard her brother's assuring voice. She then finished the conversation and gave the phone back to Anandi.
Acha chalo sabh ke liye khana banathay hain.
Ishika smiled and followed Anandi into the kitchen.
'HUmaray ghar main khana, Mom aur chachi banathi hain. Naukar ghar kay baki kaam dekhthay hain. You know cleaning, cutting the vegetables wagairah' said Ishika
Anandi smiled and then started taking things out from the fridge. She started taking the required materials out with Ishika's help and started cooking food.
Soon the entire kitchen was filled with beautiful fragrance.
'Ye lo kichdi bhi ban gayi' said Anandi as she gave a final stir to the vessel. Aapkay chachu ko kuch halka khana chahiye na' Said Anandi
'Vah Anandi ji. Aap ithna kuch , ithni jaldi kaise bana lethi hain? Main nahi ker sakthi. Pata hai ek baar mom nay mujhe tamatar katnay ko kaha. maine apni ungli kaatli aur shiv bhaiyyah ithna naraaz hue us din sab per ki main kudh dar gayi. said Ishika
'unhonay kaha ki 'kya zaroorat hai kaatnay ke liye, mujhe bata diya hotha' She said imitating a thick male voice of shiv
Anandi smiled
'Voh aapsey bohot pyar kerthay hain. Aur mujhe pata hai ki aapko voh college continue kernay dengay' she said assuringly
Ishika looked at Anandi and smiled.
'Pata hai Anandi ji mujhe na Naina bhabhi kay bina ghar per bohot bore feel hotha hai. Lekin aapnay unki kami nahi mehsoos honay di mujhe. Agar aap nahi hothi tho ' said Ishika and then she became silent
a few seconds later
'Thanks' said Ishika
'Lagtha hai Dolly aa gayi hai' Said Ishika as she heard the honk of the bus.
'Usey kuch nahi batana ' said Anandi as ishika headed towards the door to receive dolly.
'Main aa gayi!' Announced Dolly
'Welcome back!' said Ishika sarcastically as she took dolly's school bad from her hands.
'Didi..choti dadi aur badi dadi kahan hai? she asked looking around
'Dolly, thum andhar tho chalo. Athay hi chapar chapar shuru' said Ishika
A few minutes later Dolly came back into the dining room with her dress changed. Anandi served her food
'aapnay banaya hai? asked dolly
Anandi did not answer but smiled at her
'aap hi nay banaya hoga. Di nay tho definitely nahi banaya hoga' she concluded looking at Ishika
Anandi gave a small smile as she saw ishika hit Dolly head softly
As Dolly ate her food, Anandi went back into the kitchen and started doing the dishes.
'Anandi ji , aap dishes kiyun wash ker rahi hain. Maid hai na. Ye ker legi. Please chaliye aap. urged Ishika pulling Anandi's hand away from the kitchen sink
'bas ho gaya. Said Anandi
'aap jao aur dolly kay saath baito'
Dolly finished her food and then headed towards her room. Anandi asked Ishika to keep her company so that she does not hear about the mishap.
Scene 20 c
'Lagtha hai voh sabh aa gaye hain' Said Ishika loudly as she heard the honking of their cars
'Sambhalkay'. dheeray' Said shamita as she followed Neel who walked with his left arm around Shiv.
The doctors had placed a plaster on his arm for support so that the wound could heal easily. They did not want any sort of pressure on the shoulders.
'Shiv, Neel ko unkay kamray tak le jao' Suggested Hansa who looked tired
Doctors nay kya kaha asked Ishika, as Hansa, Ikshu, Hasit made their way towards the living room.
'Raman singh, kuch peenay ke liye le ker aao sabh ke liye! called our Hansa as she sat on the sofa
' Mujhe tho abhi bhi yaqeen nahi ho raha hai' said Ikshu angrily
'Ikshu, abh bas! said Hansa with a commanding tone
Hansa noticed that her husband was awfully quiet. She knew that Neel was very close to him and such an incident had definitely shook him.
'Suniye, aap fikr na karain. Uperwalay nay hum sabh per ithni badi meherbani ki hai. Neel Sahih salamat ghar aa gaya. Aur chot bhi gehri nahi said Hansa softly
'Ye lijye' said Anandi
Hansa looked up and noticed Anandi who had carried the tray filled with juice and water.
She looked a bit surprised
'beta aapko ye kernay ki kya zaroorat thi. Raman singh le ker aa jatha' said Hansa
Anandi smiled and started offering the drinks to everyone. She then looked around to find Shiv
Hansa noticed that
'Shiv andhar gaya hai. Neel aur Shamita kay saath unkay kamray tak.' She said.
Anandi looked at Hansa
'Unki tabiyat kaise hai abh?' she asked
Hansa took her about the doctors statements.
'Shukriya beta aapnay ithna kuch kiya. Bohot abhaar. ' She said with gratitude
'Aise koi baat nahi hai' Said Anandi
She then noticed Shiv coming downstairs looking weary.
He noticed her and started at her. His entire tiredness started to wear off. He started feeling better.
Anandi looked at him and gave him a plain look. He could not read the expresssions on her face but he knew that her actions proved her otherwise. Today, when he needed her she was there and that was enough for him.
Hansa was looking at Shiv and then she looked at Anandi. She then looked away her forehead sketched with worry lines.
Shiv came and stood besides Anandi. Anandi looked at him and offered him the juice. Shiv moved his hand forward towards the glass and his hands froze on the glass. He was still staring at Anandi.
Anandi turned her face away
'Ishika aap please meray saath chaliye' she said quickly.
Ishika followed Anandi.
'Chalo khana laga dethay hain' She told Ishika in a low voice.
'Kya hua beta?' asked Hansa as she saw Ishika and Anandi leave
'khanaay ki tayyari kernay ja rahe hain' said ishika
Hansa put her fists on the sofa and putting her weight on them, she got up.
'han chalo. Bhukh bhi tho lagi hogi sabhko' she said and followed them towards the Kitchen.
As soon as Hansa entered into the kitchen, she could smell the fragrance of freshly cooked meal.
'Anandi beta. Aapnay ye sabh kab banaya?! she asked shocked.
before Anandi could answer Ishika jumped in
'Mom main bhi tho bana sakthi hun na. Aapnay seedha keh diya ki Anandi nay banaya hoga! she said mockingly
Hansa shook her head
'Han bai-sa jaise aap roz banathi hain' she said sarcastically
Anandi let out a soft laugh
'Maine Neel ji ke liye Khichdi banayi hai. Halka hai aur unke liye sahih hoga' she said as she turned around to get a plate and prepare a tray for him.
Hansa looked at her lovingly. She had a longing look on her face. Together they set up the table. Hansa explained to everyone how Anandi had helped prepare the food in their absence. Anandi was feeling embarrassed by their constant mention of her work.
'aap sabh kha lijiye main jaker Neel ji aur shamita ji ko khana de ker aathi hun' Said Anandi
There were two trays. Anandi wanted to take Ishika's help but , she had left to Dolly room to check on her as per Hansa's command.
'Main chaltha hun' said Shiv readily
He took the tray and both walked towards the room. Anandi handed the tray to Neel and after Shamita's constant thanking they left the room together.
'Anandi ji .. ek min' Said shiv
'Anandi ji aapnay aaj meray parivar ke liye bohot kuch kiya' he said
He then raised his hand to stop Anandi. Anandi was about to dismiss his praise
' aise koi'' she said
'Anandi ji.. mujhe kehnay dijiye. Meray liye asaan nahi tha aaj ka din. Humaray ghar main sabh bohot nazdeekh hain ek dusray kay. aapnay tho ye dekh hi liya hoga. lekin is mushkil wali ghadi main jis tarah aapnay mera saath diya , mera matlab hai meraay parivar ke liye'.
he then stopped '.
looked at her intensely.
'Nahi.. mera saath diya, mujhe sahara diya, jo apna pan dikhaya, main uske liye thanks kehna chahtha hun. He said
Anandi looked at him. She noticed a slight fire in his eyes. She knew that shiv had more than just mere respect for her and that is why she wanted to keep her distance.
'Collector sa'' started Anandi
'Anandi please' Said Shiv angrily
He then took a small breath of air
'Shiv' he said looking at her determined
Anandi looked at him and without knowing how to react to his sudden outburst, she just lowered her gaze.
'Chalain? khanay per humara intezaar ho raha hoga' she said
As she was about to walk, she stepped onto Shiv's feet and slipped, falling in his Arms forward.
'Anandi ji..aap teek hain na' said shiv as he held Anandi's shoulders to push her up.
Anandi quickly moved away from his grip and without looking at him, she nodded.
'Chaliye' Said shiv as he moved aside letting Anandi to pass by.
