Today marks a very important day...
11th July marks the day where the entire world comes together to promote a healthy and equality lifestyle among every living being in this world, be it rich, poor, man or woman, all have the right to live a healthy lifestyle with
EQUAL opportunities.
A day which highlights a good cause and many encourage it, but just how many truly follow it? OK, we will stop beating around the bush and introduce an important international event
World population crossed
7 Billion in 2011
World population day was originally founded by United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA).
Every child is blessing right? so why should one child living in a developed country have access to a better lifestyle while another child in a developing country fights a battle against the world and life just to live on another day?
If every child is a blessing and equal then why are there millions of children dying everyday due to poverty and starvation? Don't you think its time we did something to prevent this? You all must be wondering "well what could I do?" the answer is simple...
lots..
there is so much you can do... Join in with this year's theme of:
Universal Access to Reproductive Health Services
The lack of access to Reproductive Health Services has been the leading cause for ill health and deaths of childbearing women across the world. Therefore the UNFPA has developed a long term vision to raise the awareness of reproductive health services to developing countries and deliver universal access to reproductive health services by 2015. Its a long term vision which can't be fulfilled without YOUR help.
Do your little bit by taking part in campaigns which raise awareness in areas such as family planning, poverty and human rights. Put posters up in your local community and advertise any local events on Face book and Twitter.
Together we can make a difference!

An estimated 222 million women in developing countries want to avoid pregnancies but lack access to modern contraceptives. Did you know, if this need was met, 53 million fewer pregnancies would take place annually and 100,000 fewer maternal deaths would occur. What a difference that could make to the overgrowing world population? And this is achievable if only modern contraceptives were provided in developing countries.
The leading cause of maternal deaths include bleeding, infections and unsafe abortions, all which are treatable/preventable if only they had access to modern health services.
Almost half of all women in developing countries deliver their babies without any medical assistance i.e. doctor/midwife
Approximately 19 million unsafe abortions take place annually in developing countries which result in 47,000 women losing their lives.
Every year, 10-15 million women suffer long lasting illnesses caused by complicated child birth, hence more than 300 women live with disabilities.
All these facts highlight one important factor... they all could be prevented if only they had access to modern health facilities...so if they can be prevented...why aren't they being prevented?
Some people (due to religious/cultural beliefs) believe contraception should NOT be used as they believe a child is born from God's will and if they use contraception, they will be interfering in God's will, which is wrong
In countries like UK, the "Child Benefits" service provides families with financial support to raise their children, so families feel, the more children, the more money they can claim from the government.
Some women fear using contraception may leave them infertile or cause problems in the future when they are ready to have children
The strict enforcement of one child policy of China has many disadvantages but it is a example to world that if will is there
we can achieve a lot.
Friends, Crazy Creative Team wants every member to share their thoughts on this important topic. Please give us your inputs on how to make world a safe place to have children and raise them the way God intended. Also, discuss your views on how to limit the overgrowing population and whether or not you support the "family planning" campaigns

Great post Yuvi as usual. The growing population is probably the biggest menace the world faces today. Every other problem is linked to it.

The population must be much more than that. šŸ˜”

Great post man, thanks for making threads on such topics. This is probably the only thing which puts India way ahead of others šŸ˜†

Hope with this family planning initiative we're able to pull it down as much as possible. 😳

The 7 billion figure reflects the numbers tht came forward for 2011...obv its increased nw...bt the figures for this yr haven't yet been released hence we decided 2 include 2011 figures to give an idea of how much the world population is increasing

These are two famous articles, Yuvika šŸ˜›

Indian baby picked as world's 'seven billionth' person

A baby born in India has been declared the world's seven billionth person by child rights group Plan International.

Baby Nargis was born at 07:25 local time (01:55GMT) in Mall village in India's Uttar Pradesh state.

Plan International says Nargis has been chosen symbolically as it is not possible to know where exactly the seven billionth baby is born.

The United Nations estimated that on Monday 31 October, the world's population would reach seven billion.

However, the UN itself has decided not to identify a specific child as the seven billionth person.

The UN Secretary General, Ban Ki-moon, told a news conference marking the occasion that the milestone was not about one newborn baby but about the entire "human family".

He warned of rising public anger in the world's population and a loss of faith in governments and public institutions to do the right thing.

"Our world is one of terrible contradictions," he said.

"Plenty of food but one billion people go hungry. Lavish lifestyles for a few but poverty for too many others."

He said he would take a message to the leaders of the G20 leading economies who are due to meet in Cannes later this week.

"Think about our children, think about the future with vision and foresight."

He said he would call for the world's poor not to be forgotten in a time of economic austerity and for women and young people to be given a proper voice in their future.

In addition to baby Nargis in India, Bangladesh, the Philippines and Cambodia have all identified seven billionth babies.

'Good luck'

Every minute, 51 babies are born in India, 11 of them in the most populous state, Uttar Pradesh.

Nargis was born to Vinita and Ajay Kumar on Monday morning in a small government-run hospital in Mall village, nearly 50km (31 miles) from the state capital, Lucknow, a Plan International official told the BBC.

The daughter of a poor farmer, Nargis was chosen as the seventh billionth baby to focus attention on the ills of female foeticide and India's skewed sex ratio, the organisation said.

Hundreds of thousands of female foetuses are aborted in India every year, even though sex-selective terminations and the use of ultrasound technology for foetal sex-determination are illegal there.

Photos of baby Nargis were shown at a function attended by nearly 250 villagers at the hospital, the BBC's Ram Dutt Tripathi reports from Mall.

Health officials presented the birth certificate to her father at the event.

"We were praying all along for a daughter," Ajay Kumar said. "She is Lakshmi [Hindu goddess of wealth], she will bring us good luck," he said.

A street play staged at the event on the importance of the girl child saw many moist eyes among the audiences, our correspondent says.

The person chosen by the UN as the world's symbolic six billionth person, Adnan Mevic, is now 12 years old.

He was photographed in hospital in 1999 with the then UN Secretary General Kofi Annan.

His family are living in relatively poor conditions in the Bosnian capital, Sarajevo, and have expressed disappointment that since they were visited by Mr Annan, they have heard nothing more from the UN.

It is thought that this could be one reason why the UN has decided not to name a seven billionth child.

Last night, humanity greeted--by some calculations--its 7 billionth inhabitant, and one of the babies that the United Nations chose to represent the milestone was in Manila, Philippines. Her name is Danica May Camacho, and she was greeted with flashing cameras, speeches and a "a gift certificate for free shoes," the Associated Press reported. The news service points out that there were similar celebrations greeting the arrival of babies in Uttar Pradesh, India and elsewhere. The U.N. officials on hand in Manila greeted the seven billionth person with a small cake, The Guardian reported, and her family also received a scholarship grant for her education. "She looks so lovely ... I can't believe she is the world's seven billionth," said her mother, Camille Dalura, to the newspaper. The next time such big, symbolic population milestones should be expected, according to the current U.N. estimates via the AP, are in 2025 (8 billion people) and in 2083 (when humanity reaches the 10 billion figure)
