Hi... Friends...
Its a big shame that still after this much years of Independence, untouchables are still exist in our country.

I want you to share your personal experience on this issue. I am from kerala. In my childhood i have also witnessed the same. We are from higher caste and we as a child was not allowed to even play with lower caste. I remember one time one beggar who was considered as untouchable came to our house. He is only allowed to enter upto the entrance gate, my grandmother told me to give him money and rice, but she threatened always that never touch him when you give the offerings.

I asked her what will happen if I touch him. her answer was so funny that she told 'if you touch him you have to take bath from 7 different ponds'. I was like 😕 . But i took a courageous decision to touch him just wanted to know what will happen. And I did. I did touch him when I give him the money.I was feeling very proud that I have done something very big (eventhough i didn't tell to anyone) I still remember that guy who was very much afraid that I touch him. He just run away..poor him...

Now the matter is changed. it was about 15 years before..My mother is very kind and generous towards everyone. she never treat anyone according to caste. Anyone is warm welcomed in our house. We never ask for their caste. If there is any outside work, my mom always orders us to make sure the workers gets food and water at time. We work together and eat together..and ofcourse some cousins doesnt like at all. But my mom never listen to them..I am so proud of my mom.

Please share your experience..

well i am a north Indian and from a high caste Thakur family...my parents never restricted me from playing with low caste ppl...i remember in my childhood days i used to play with a riksha walas kid and my parents never asked me to stop playing with him. moreover my parents even had a meal at a low caste persons wedding and the other villagers ate seeing my papa doing so. :D i feel am lucky that my parents arent like the typical thakurs ...but sometimes my mumma doesnt allow me go near the sweeper or touch him even by mistake while giving him water...that makes me sad.
