So are you asking about directors or actors who do well in this genre?

I also love love Singham and watched it many times... lol... it's a perfect masala film for me.. and in my opinion 100 times better than Dabangg

Priyadarshan...his movies are so entertaining but not sure if they fall into the new masala definition now. Masala = violence + item song + flying people + loud background music +slapstick comedy?

The biggest Masala movie director in Bollywood was none other than Manmohan Desai. His movies had everything. Emotions (Lost and found formula), Comedy, Romance and Action. And he gave hits after hits. He made AB career.

Prakash Mehra was another big time Masala movie director. Angry Young Man was created by this man.

Then came the Govinda-David Dhawan combination. David Dhawan made movies like Swarg which was emotional and your daily soap opera kinda movie. Shola Aur Shabnam was the turning point. Great Comedy and Emotional after interval. Aankhen was the movie which started double meaning dialogue phase in Bollywood.

I loved Singham. Infact i loved the villain more than Ajay Devgan. Rohit Shetty needs to churn out more Singham like movies to become a great Masala movie director.

i cant really choose a particular director but some masala movies I've enjoyed watching-OSO,Main Hoon Na,Wanted,Welcome,Karan Arjun(LMAOO),Dabaang,

I didnt like Golmaal series much and detested RA 1,Ready,Bodyguard,NO Entry

Priyardashan shouldnt get any credit for his movies in BW.Believe it or not! 95% of his movies are a scene by scene, dialogue by dialogue copy of original good malayalam movies directed by other talented directors.Sometimes he ruins them.Bhool Bhulayya couldnt even match 1% of the genius of its original malayalam counterpart.(Vidya is a good actress but Shobana is something else..she is one of the best dancers of India too)..Hulchul cant match the original as well..Hera Pheri was the only remake that did some justice to the original
