Today I personally feel many people messed up many classic songs! I am not a trained singer, however I am a trained instrumentalist (the clarinet.) I learned the scales, flats, sharps and all that jazz. I was disappointed at the following people...

Amit Kumar: He fell flat on some notes and his consistency was a little shaky, with his control on his singing falling up and down

Ritika: she needs more training as she is young, but she was flat and then suddenly sharp on some notes

I LOVED...

Kaushik, Vipul, Devendra, they all had great expressions in their songs, great pace, and their notes were (most of the time) right on! Vipul and Dev had amazing chemistry singing a tribute to Jagjit Singh, Dev had amazing control on his notes and the song, Vipul hit some notes right on the money and Kaushik had the lovely playful expression.

:)
What are your guys opinion??

P.S. Poorvi did very well too, first time I heard her try a style like this!

I don't know what to say this point in time. All these girls failed to impress me😳 Even Poorvi didn't do justice to her song. Ritica and Sohini were below average. These girls can not do justice to lata di and Asha ji's songs. Too bad, they have to learn a lot. I wish Kritica and Juhi were there today.
Vipul is the only singer who impressed me today. Davinder, Amit, Amitabh and Kaushik were average.
Perhaps they did not get the full song to demonstrate their talent. Vipul is an amazing artist. Kaushik has good contol over his voice. Let them sing Film Industry's golden era songs i.e. from 1960 to 1980. we will know who is the best. Rafi sahab, Kishor da, Hemant Kumar, Mahinder kappor, Yasudass, Suresh vadekar, Lata, Asha, Vani jairam, Suman kayanpur and Hemlata ruled our industry that time.

I would like that only if now a days singer sang this sort of songs but we dont have this kind of songs produced or have a demand majorily. Don't get me wrong they are the good songs and I still listen to some of them but usually between 1990's to 2000's Kumar and Udit and Alka stuff. If we have the idols to sing that era songs I would suggest we might have to bring some of the elimination guys back such as juhi, Indu, and Soumiya or more because the current 10 like the OP said really messed up the singing and well just to say it was not nice to the ears... Just my 2 cents.

So far going by Friday's episode,I thought Purvi,Vipul and Purvi shone but the rest were not all that great at all. This year's idol doesn't seem to have that singer who's voice really reaches out to you to touch you in a magical way...that's my opinion anyway!

I was just glad we actually heard them attempt some good songs! Song choice has been pretty poor so far. I think the show kicked out a lot of potentially good singers and kept the mediocre ones for the Top Ten. They're paying the price for it now.
