That is an excellent reason.
Another reason I thought of: My husband and I were talking about a movie called Thirteen Days (about the Cuban Missile Crisis during President Kennedy's time). I know, I know bear with me. :) In it, in all meetings with his staff, President Kennedy only listens and hears everyone's views and opinions... and then in the end gives his opinions and directions. That's how leaders operate. That a good management tactic, says my brilliant husband. :)
I think Arnav is doing the same. Seeing where people stand. How does Shyam operate and how he counters Kushi's accusations. His soldier in the room is Khushi but nobody knows that yet. Probably not even Khushi. He trusts Khushi's implicitly now, there is no question of that. That is why she never looked at him, she doesn't need to prove anything to him anymore. He wants to see what the other family members say. He is judging everyone at this point. Payal and NK's views. Mamiji's concern. Everything.
And yes, its all being bottled up in that Harvard brain which is finally operating now. When Shyam insults Khushi, I think he will not be able to hold back.
My two cents... I loved your post. :)
