For TVS and Sugni it was not love at first sight. TVS was simply someone of a good character whom Sugni gradually came to respect and admire. He was consistently good to her and her family and she was always grateful to him. TVS first really noticed Sugni when Amrita was showing him pictures of her on her laptop. TVS (wonderfully performed nice and subtly by VB) noted her pictures...later on he saw pictures of her again and was just captivated by her looks. Those chance encounters sparked something inside of him for her. When she tried to run away to the city, perhaps that was TVS awakening that he could not live without her and confessed that he loved her.
Did Sugni love TVS in return? She certainly had a deep respect for him; she constantly commented on how unique and wonderful he was to her. Seriously, if a guy treated you like TVS did, wouldn't you also get goosebumps? When TVS said he loved her, it was awkward for her because she could never see him that way. For me the dance/seduction scene was TVS' way of saying to Sugni, it's OK for you to like me and I know you have those feelings for me. And of course, she did.
I would have perferred for the writers to have had more scenes of TVS and Sugni together...if you recollect in one of the promos they were walking together and she tied a thread to a tree. Had this scene taken place, it would have provided a necessary element in adding depth to the relationship and bridging the gap between admiration and love.
