a major part of India is south ... and ignoring them is wrong. Even after the previous Indian Idol is a South Indian they still aren't letting auditions happen in South. They should've chosen one common place for south and let auditions happen there.

Well partially agree..

But I have been to Chennai .. Have lived there for more than 2 yrs or so.. And I saw some kind of uncanny hatred in them for North Indian, specially Hindi speaking people.. It's not a myth or rumor that I am talking about, I experienced it thoroughly.. Totally my experience, so there is no need to feel bad about it.. But I felt they dont like Hindi channels or anything related to Hindi.. May be that's why auditions are not held there..

But yeah Hyderabad and Bangalore wasn't like that.. People know Hindi pretty well in both the cities.. So I think they should do auditions in those places ! 😊 And Chennai is near to Hyd.. People who wanna participate from TN, can audition in Hyd 😊

The reverse is also equally true. NIs have made fun of SI habits/culture for years in movies and elsewhere and SI are hugely discriminated against in the North.

😊I do not think chennai IS south india, auditions could have been held in Bangalore and hyderabad too. Now, india being truly cosmopolitan, there is not much gap.

It is sony's fault. They should have held auditions down south, am sure, at least 100 people would have turned up😆

Hope, they make up for it next year😊

Is is disappointing if they really did not look for singers from the south. We all know there are good singers in the south. They should have auditioned in Hyderabad or Bangalore.

sorry to know that.. i have not been to chennai so i dunno how it is there much... but what i was pointing out was they should have had atleast an audition for south indian states...and tamil nadu is not the only south indian state.. there is karnataka , andra , kerala... and jus because a few people doesnt like hindi doesnt mean all the people in chennai or TN are against the language.. A.R.Rehman, Shankar mahadevan etc come from TN.. And many other great musical talents like Yesudas, Chithra, SP, Kavita Krishnamurthy, Sujatha,Hari Haran ,Vani Jayaram ,Chinmayi,Mahalaxmi Iyer, Anuradha Sriram.. all these are some of the best singers of Indian musical Industry.. who have proved their metal..Who got some of the best songs to their credit.. in hindi as well as in regional languages.. And according to me a singer is called versatile when they can sing a song in any language.. not jus hindi.. that is why everyone loves shreya ghoshal.. she sings wonderfully well.. and have no language barriers.. when she sings hindi or tamil or bengali or malayalam.. the clarity is amazing .. and no one can make out if she knows the language or not.. thats what talent is...!
