oh my my my God...
what a performance!
When Mini announced the next singer
"Her style is Paschimi, but her name is Poorvi"
No one could have guess such a rocking performance.
Honestly i'm one among the very rare personalities who like classical, or Indian classical to be more precise compared to hip-hop, rock or rap.
And Poorvi Kautish immediately was an exception.
The trailer of her "Yo babbyy" performance in Ashaji's words had me gripped. And when the actual performance started i was.. FLATTERED, in one word.
Now why am I praising Poorvi so much when we perhaps have more talented here???
Reason,
When you are singing a typical grammy western style, you dont get the tone, pace and rhythm easily, with respect to Indian singers. I have seen very very few singers like Sonu Nigaam do it.
perhaps this is the reason why A.R.Rahman ropes in his favorite singer Blaaze to sing english lyrics in his songs.. (if you have heard his Tamil songs coz he composes he gives his best to Shankar)
And Poorvi has that X-FACTOR.
the song she chose, "aye udi udi" rom Saathiya was perfect to showcase her skills.
Not even once her throat went to a side not it slipped. It was EFFORTLESS.
And this is very much needed for an Indian Idol. (Sreeram has this factor, that's why he could sing Breethless efforlessly)
Her advantage were the words of her father which she kept in mind, "If you really wanna win Indian Idol, keep your tune Indian but tone Western"
Poorvi's dream is to win atleast one grammy.
i'd like to say, "Yo babbyyy if you keep your father's words in mind and pratice and pratice with the same passion, you'll definitely get one"
I wish All the Best to her.
May she keep us awestruck and entertained like this.
