Aarti - you raised a very good question , everyone in the forum is calling Ashu Dumb , but if we keep ourself in place of Ashu ,it's difficult for us to trust on one person completely .
Ashu Knows this fact That Mallika and Nidhi don't like each other , and Ashu is not aware of the true colours of Mallika . So it's obvious for him, not to trust Nidhi blindly .
When he is seeing Mallika's condition from his own eyes.

If I was in place of Ashu , I would have listened to what Nidhi is saying patiently ,and will not shout on her . I being Ashu don't know the true colours of mallika so I Will try to convince Nidhi that Mallika is not faking , I will come close to Nidhi in front of Mallika to convince her that mallika is not jealous of our relation.

In this process ,am sure one day Mallika will lose her temper and her truth will come in front of Ashu.
Like this we can enjoy more of Ashni scenes and jealous Mallika. And Ashu's character will not be butchered.
