She stood before Shyam trying to not break down and cry out, trying to not let out the pain that was eating her whole. 'I have to stay strong for Arnav' she kept repeating in her head and looking at the monster in the eye and making him believe that she was set out to destroy Arnav, deceiving him.
She felt the bile raising in her throat as Shyam cupped her chin, telling her that he would be there for her. She dragged herself trying to act like she was a part of his sick and twisted world and strongly disguised hate for the man she loved and laid the trap for the devil. After Shyam left she broke down, pained and at loss, she felt defeated by the evil and sickness he was possessed by, she felt pained for the deceit Anjali was blanketed by and she cried for Arnav who was not by her side.
Khushi was not someone to back down, she would save her husband, she would bring back everything that Shyam had snatched away. She would fight till her last breath just to see Arnav safe and sound, just to make everything right.
The next day she deceived Shyam into signing the papers, she was elated at having cleared part of the mess she started but her heart feared wondering if the man standing before her would read her mind and push her even further down in defeat, she only breathed a sigh of relief when he pointed out the saree and turned to leave, she felt disgusted and stained for even being next to him, she found herself flinching in hurt every time he tried touching her and his twisted talks made her want to slap him hard and burn him alive for the disloyalty and deception. Amidst her loathing for Shyam, Khushi spotted a note on the parcel sent for her.
She lifted it curiously and turned it back and forth, her eyes filled with tears reading the untidy scrawl, she hugged it close to her absolutely oblivious to the monster standing behind her, trying to get her closer to him. She cried out thanking the heavens for giving her hope that she would find him, her Laad Governor.
Khushi felt like she had a part of him with her, she found strength within her to move forward and fight for the one she loved. Khushi and NK set out to Vasanth Virar, Khushi's heart beating with the anticipation of rescuing Arnav and rushing into his arms. The desire to catch a glimpse of him pushed her all this while providing her with the ability to fight against all odds, his presence by her side promised healing of all past wounds, it promised the strength to fight more and rescue themselves from the ugly circumstances they were bound by, his return promised to revive lost love.
'Khushi ji I think this is the place, lets go' NK says and drags Khushi into the hotel. Khushi try's to describe the man with the tatoo to the people at hotel, the dingy and claustrophobic place makes her feel sick. 'Arey yeh aadmi thoh roz yahaan se hi khaana ley jaata hai, shayad voh mandir ke piche rehta hai, meine use kal hi uss taraf jaate hue dekha' Khushi feels like crying with joy hearing these words, she thanks the waiter and runs towards the mandir with NK following behind.
Khushi strolls through the streets, trying hard to find a possible hideout. 'Khushi ji' NK calls out to her. 'There are only two streets behind the temple and it will be easier if you search one and I the other, keep your phone close and call me if you find anything suspicious' he says breathlessly and disappears into one of the alleys.
Khushi shields herself from the scorching sunlight, trying to move fast, trying to get to Arnav. She sees broken tatch houses, most of them left unoccupied, the smell of the garbage and uncovered gutters leaves her feeling sick and nauseated, she holds her duppata to her nose and frantically searches, trying to spot something unusual. She holds on to this feeling deep within her that Arnav is close, he will be by her side soon. The neighborhood seems eerily quiet except for a few people walking by her giving her odd looks. Khushi suddenly spots one of the kidnappers walking by, her heart beats with fear, her palms sweat and her heart beats at lightning speed. She hides herself behind a tree and tries to slow down her breathing and calm herself, she pulls out her phone and calls NK 'I can see one of the kidnappers' Khushi whispers into the phone looking around in fright, 'Where are you Khushi ji?' NK asks, the fear evident in his voice. Khushi suddenly finds the phone pulled out of her hand and she freezes with fear, she feels paralysed and unable to move, she turns around to find herself staring into Shyams dangerous furious eyes, blazing with anger and revenge.
He grips her wrist and pulls her harshly causing her to wince in pain, Khushi finds herself tearing up for having come so far to be mercilessly defeated. 'You were playing me all along weren't you?' he growled dangerously. 'I try to be there for you and you go running towards Arnav every time, we can be happy' he says through clenched teeth, Khushi whimpers in pain trying to not let his twisted words pull her down, she tries focusing her mind on Arnav and how to get out of this but all she can feel is blinding pain on her wrists and arms causing endless tears to fall out 'You are mine, I will... he trails of and his grip loosens and his eyes roll back and he falls to the ground and an astonished Khushi finds herself staring at a smirking NK holding a metal rod.
Khushi cries out in relief, tears of happiness spilling out, she can still get to him she assures herself and sets out with NK to search for Arnav before Shyam regains consciousness and causes more destruction.
NK leads her to the hidden and broken down warehouse he came across at one of the street crossing, you would only notice it if you look very carefully through the endless garage cars parked and large trees covering the view. Khushi feels like she's nearing Arnav with every step, the joy of seeing him, having her greatest strength by her side causes her to out run NK into the warehouse. She strep's inside fighting for patience, trying to stay calm and get Arnav out safely, but the possibility that he is so close makes her heart leap, she notices that everything is silent and it scares her she searches frantically, pulling open doors, knocking down boxes and then she just starts yelling 'Arnav ji!' she knows he's close she can feel it, she tries to hold back her tears and search calmly, she continues to yell and bang doors
'Khushi' like a whisper in abandoned woods, like a promise in the midst of devastation his voice reaches her ears, breaking all the calm she tried to build, she looks at him with wide eyes her heart overflowing with love, joy, relief and victory. She rushes forward flinging herself into his arms, absolutely speechless, sobs wracking her body, he holds her close and tries to soothe her but failing to do so. It all feels like a dream to her, she cries with relief that he's fine, she clutches on to him not willing to let go and lose him this time.
Arnav cups her chin and makes her look at him, her tear stained face breaks his heart, 'I'm fine' 'he whispers and hugs her close, assuring her that he would take over, he would fight for them and bring back everything they let go.
She stands weeping, her hand moving over his face frantically making sure he's true and real, she clutches on to his tear soaked shirt and cries in joy realizing that her prayer is answered, her wish granted, he was safe and fine and she was by his side.
A ray of light in utter darkness, water to a parched soul and peace in the midst of chaos, they were together and every thing would be find, every raging battle simple and every danger child's play. They walked out together, hugging each other close finally feeling complete as he whispered into her hair 'I'll always be by your side, this I promise you'.
How was it?😕 I tried to put into words how I think they should reunite. Do comment/like and let me know what you think, it encourages me a lot.😃
