Chapter 21

Abhay was searching the college grounds for Pia. She was nowhere to be found. He could think of only one person other than Maya who would know about her whereabouts. He rushed straight to him: Armaan. Reaching his classroom, he tapped the door lightly to get Armaan's attention.

Armaan looked up from the book he was reading and slimed seeing Abhay. "Abhay, I've been wanting to talk to you. Come in."

Abhay did but before Armaan could say anything, he began. "I'm sorry but I don't have time right now. Have you seen Pia?"

"And that is exactly what I want to talk to you about. Pia' did something happen between you both? She was really depressed this morning. I told her to talk to you once but don't know if she has. Has she?"

"No' That's why I'm worried. I need to talk to her." he pleaded.

Armaan walked up to him and put a comforting hand on his shoulder. "If anything I can advise on, I'd say, go and tell her how much you love her. Tell her before It's too late. She just went towards the library. She was speaking of issuing some books for the finals and then head home. Go catch her before she leaves."

"Thank you!" Abhay replied with a big grin on his face. He made a promise to himself that no matter what, he will take a relaxed breath only after he sorts out the misunderstanding and tells Pia how much he loves her. He turned to leave but then paused. He looked back at Armaan and rushed to him to give him a brotherly hug.

Armaan replied back with the same affection. "Now go and get your girl." He encouraged. Abhay left like a wind.

Armaan watched him leave. He smiled to himself before returning back to his book.

Pia was coming out of the library; books in one hand and her mobile in another as she unlocked it to check who was calling. Misha's name flashed on the screen. She smiled and moved her fingers to slide the bar to pick up the phone when someone tugged her hand harshly.

The phone fell from her hands and was ruined. As it was a touch screen, the screen was damaged and was dead now. She looked up to see who dared to do that and say the person she least wanted to see at the moment; Jeh.

She said angrily seeing him. "Jeh, how dare you? What the hell is this?"

"This is payback. What had you said? You had warned me to stay away from you right? Let's see who saves you now." Jeh snorted with his devil-ish voice as he pushed her to the wall and pinned her hands there.

He came dangerously close to her face. Out of sudden fear, she shut her eyes while still struggling to free herself. He was overpowering her and she knew it. Still, she continued struggling in hopes of freeing herself even when she knew it wouldn't be possible seeing the force with which he was holding down her hand.

She gathered up her courage and once again, opened her eyes to look right into his' confidently. "LET ME GO." She gritted sternly through her teeth and gave him a hard glare. But that didn't do the trick. It only motivated Jeh to misbehave even more, as he had planned!

"Oh why don't you call your Abhay for that? That day he was saying big things. Where is he now?" he taunted.

She looked away, clearly not liking the way he was speaking. It disgusted her. She had stopped trying to free her hand from his hold. But seconds later, she resumed when she felt he had lightened the hold. To her bad luck, he hadn't.

"What do you want?" she asked.

He let go of one her hand so that he could hold her chin. Forcefully, he made her look at him. "Now now, I think you're smart enough to figure that out." He then moved his face even closer to her till it was only couple of centimeters away.

Now, it was completely scaring her. No matter how hard she might have been in the past, seeing the reality in front of her, she was afraid. As far as she knew, no one was at college. That is, no one that would step forward to help her. And him being the guy and his bad intentions scared her. She didn't know what to do or how to save herself. She couldn't trust Jeh and she had no idea how far he would go. She just knew one thing from what Maya had told her. This guy had no limit and he could and would do whatever he sets his mind to.

A small tear escaped her eyes. "Awe, no baby; don't cry. There'll be plenty of time later on to cry. In fact, lots of time to regret. I'll make you regret the day you when you insulted Jeh Khurana. I'll make sure you pay for it."

"Jeh, please don't do this. Let me go please." She pleaded. But of course, that would do nothing to melt Jeh. He had enough hard feelings against her.

"Oh, now you're pleading? What's that line people usually say? Oh yes! 'For God's sake, please let me go.' Blah blah; won't you say that too, my dear?" he said moving his finger alongside her cheek. She felt like kicking the life out of him for touching her. Alas, she couldn't.

He then got aggressive and she had her eyes closed, not wanting to see his face at all. He spat in her ear, holding handful on her hair and pushing her face closer to his. "Now listen you *****, no one is going to come save you."

"Why' Why are you doing this?"

"Quite simple, I have some scores to settle with Abhay. What easy way to get back at him than to hurt you? After all, he loves you the most!"

The last line hurt her more than any of his move on her hand. Because no matter what he does to her body, it will be nothing compared to the pain she felt in her heart hearing the last words. She knew he didn't love her. Least did she know was that it was a misunderstanding and Abhay did love her.

"Do whatever you want. It will least bother him." She managed to say putting the grief aside.

Jeh was confused by that but he was least bothered. In the split of a second when Jeh had gotten confused, Pia saw the opportunity to run and she took it. She jerked her hand free and took a step away pushing him off her.

It was a second of joy only though. He had regained his balance and he was about to pull her by her shoulder when the shirt ripped. She stopped still hearing the rip and before she realized, she was pinned by the wall again and his grip on her arm strengthened. They left a quick mark on her arm and she winced in pain.

Her trial for escape had burned the fire of anger in Jeh. He held her by shoulders tightly and he roared in her face. "How dare you try to escape? Let's see how you try again."

"Jeh' please'" she said and let her tears flow down her cheek. For a second, she looked into his eyes and couldn't read them. She had no idea what he was going to do next. He moved his lips close to hers and she shut her eyes immediately and started hitting his chest, hoping against hope to be set free.

Just then, Abhay turned the corner while searching for Pia, to see the horror. His eyes boiled with rage and he didn't just stand there to digest the scene. He rushed towards Jeh and pulled him apart from Pia. Call that Pia's luck or destiny's wish, the only thing that mattered was that Abhay had reached there.

Pia could feel Jeh move away with her eyes closed. With trembling lips, she dared to open her eyes. Seeing Abhay in front of her now instead of Jeh, tears of relief started flowing down her cheek. She didn't want to hear what he was saying or asking. She just hugged him tight not caring about anything else. Her hero was there to save the day.

Abhay realized it was not the time to ask what had happened. He continued sending her consoling pats but he wondered if she was listening to his words. She just continued crying and wailing. Just glad that Abhay was there with her, no matter the situations between them.

Abhay then hardened realizing that Jeh was still there. He had pushed Jeh to the opposite wall when he had first walked in. The push had made Jeh unstable for a few minutes. Parting from the hug, Abhay turned to look at Jeh. Pia held on to his jacket sleeves and kept on clutching it as if she was about ready to fall any second.

"A- Abhay'" She started to speak but he just hushed her.

"Shh Pia, I'm here now. Don't worry, calm down." That was when his eyes fell on the rip on her shirt. She followed his gaze and she suddenly became conscious. He removed his jacket and wrapped it around her. He looked at Jeh with a deathly glare. He was firm at his decision on teaching Jeh a lesson once and for all.

He walked dangerously close to him and pulled him by his collar. He now roared, "Jeh Khurana, have you forgotten your previous lesson? How dare you even think of looking at Pia in that manner?"

Pia's eyes watered, seeing the worry for her in Abhay's eyes. She wondered if it was out of love but she didn't want to think about it. She brought her thoughts back to the scene in front of her.

He didn't give Jeh a chance to reply. He gave him a tight punch on his face and pinned him to the ground. Jeh tried to gain his balance but the rage in Abhay was too hard to stand up against. Pia took a step back, afraid of what Abhay would do next. Abhay give another punch on the other side of Jeh and continued beating him for touching Pia.

No one touches my Pia. He said in his mind and continued. Pia was horrified seeing the way he was beating Jeh black and blue. Yes, he did wrong by trying to rape her, but still, she couldn't bring herself to watching Jeh being beaten up so badly. She thought Jeh had received the lesson of his mistake.

She cautiously walked up to Abhay and tried to pull him up but he wasn't in his senses. "Abhay, please, stop it! Please Abhay, he'll die! Just look at him Abhay. You'll kill him. Stop it!" she kept tugging at his arm to get him to stop hitting Jeh but her tiny hands and terrified body was nothing against Abhay's anger.

It was of no use. Unwillingly, Abhay pushed the hand away that was stopping him from punching Jeh. She lost her balance and ended up being thrown at the wall. Her head hit the wall badly. She held her head, pain shot terribly through her body. Her eyes stayed shocked, seeing that Abhay would push her in that manner.

She let out a moan and that' when Abhay realized what he had done. He turned to look at Pia, who was ready to drop to the floor any second due to dizziness. He rushed to her and held her head in his lap as she fell.

"Pia! Pia, open your eyes. I'm so sorry!!" he cried and continued tapping her cheeks, trying to get her to open her eyes. She struggled to open them. Her throat felt dry and death thoughts were coming to her. She wanted to say what she felt for him before letting her eyes close. She struggled to get the words out.

"Abhay'"

He was happy to hear her low voice. "Yes Pia. I'm here. Just don't close your eyes please. I'm really sorry'"

She lightly shook her head to say he didn't need to apologize. But it pained her like hell. It didn't matter to her though. She continued to say what she wanted to. "Ab-Abhay' I-I- love'you." As soon as the last word escaped her mouth, she let her eyes close leaving Abhay to look upon her with horror.

Should he be happy to know that he loved him or be horrified at the fact that she closed her eyes? Fear got the best of him and he started slapping her face to get her to open her eyes.
"Pia?! Pia, open your eyes! Pia!!!"

He suddenly felt his hands get sticky. He slowly moved them from under her head and his eyes widened more, if that was even possible. More horror took over his face as he saw what he feared worst. Blood'

So... that was the plan. As said, tried to go through it as fast as possible. Uhm yeah, you guys might want to kill me for this ending to the chapter. Don't get into any thoughts though. Let me give a precap and save myself from whatever you are ready to throw at me 😳

Preview of Chapter22:

A lot of confusion over took her hurt brain. She couldn't think properly. Everything was coming back to her. Her head pounded in her body. The night of the incident. She received flashes of the night... The car... two people running...holding hands... just running to save themselves... And then it happened.

The accident... she saw herself lying on the middle of the floor, a pool of blood already lay by her head. Someone besides her shrugging her frantically to get her to speak... She flashed her eyes open and sat up straight, breathing hard. She looked around to see where she was. In darkness, she saw wires attached to her hand.

It pained to think. But she looked around, only looking for one person. Abhay. She had to ask him what happened after that night. She tried thinking, but everything was blank. She couldn't remember anything.

She pulled the tabs on his hand away and got out of bed. Everything was dizzy but she didn't care. She made her way out of the hospital room, in search for Abhay.

She hugged him as tight as possible. This was the best day of her life. To be reunited to Abhay felt magical at her heart. She whispered for the hundredth time. "I love you." Each time, with more love in her eyes than ever.
