STARS AND THEIR EXTREME MAKEOVERS

Mollywood's screen sizzlers have worked extra hard at looking the way they do today. Kochi Times digs into the past to show you just how much work has gone in. And without a doubt, we like what we see

Asha Prakash

Drastic is an understatement when you look at the changes that some of our hottest looking stars have gone through. From simple to super hot... each transformation is more impressive than the other. Check 'em out…
REMYA NAMBEESAN
The child star-turned-actor was introduced to the big screen as the archetypal village belle — complete with well oiled hair, sporting traditional Kerala attire. Fast forward to the present; she's shocked everyone with her new avatar; sexy curls, understated make-up and fab outfits and of course loads of oomph. Remya is now considered to be one of the hottest looking actors in Mollywood lately.
BHAVANA
Her first big screen venture in 2002 was that of a street urchin — with dark make-up t all. The then frizzy-haired Bhavana may have just about made people notice her with her girl-next-door act in Chronic Bachelor, in 2003. However, it was the beginning of her stint in Kollywood, in 2008, that really rocked the screen and she has not stopped since. The gorgeous Bhavana is currently one of the most sought after actresses in the southern film industries.
BHAMA
A traditional looking heroine is always in demand in Mollywood. Bhama has been one of the front runners on this list for years. Though, a stint in Kannada films brought about a surprising and very welcome change. She was suddenly able to fit into any glamourous role. The actress is bringing back all that she has learnt to Mollywood too — watch out for her next film.
PRITHVIRAJ
One look at Prithviraj today and one would never imagine he could have been the same chubby faced youngster. The actor got extra serious about his craft and now, he's known to be able to change his appearance to fit into the role on demand. His films Raavanan and Puthiya Mugham, which showcased his chiselled face and sculpted body, as opposed to Indian Rupee wherein he even developed a paunch to play the character, is proof of that.
JAYASURYA
Jayasurya, who spotted the archetypal 'local guy' look for long, has admitted in interviews that he had to put in a lot of effort to achieve his current look. He looks fit, hot and definitely a lot more stylish when compared to what we saw of him in his first film —
O o m a p p e n n i n u Uriyadapayyan.
FAHADH FAASIL
An unbecoming moustache and clumsy body language had helped the audience write off Fahadh Faasil when he first appeared on screen in 2002. Years later, when he returned — sans the moustache, but with oodles of style and attitude — it had everyone staring back at him in amazement. His look in hits like Kerala Caf and Chappa Kurishu are proof of that. The smart, sauv and stylish Fahadh may not sport six abs... But can no doubt make women go weak in the knees.
