SMJ 24th June.. dealing with the probs and there solutions of insecticides.. according to me after the medical scam epi this is one of d best epis in SMJ. I am not saying that other epis were not that good enough it's just that today's epi presented a much shocking fact with perfection .. a fact that was less focused n needed to be focused in this very moment by gov as it is connected with our day to day life.. I must say again AAMIR was at his best today.. d way he anchored today's epi was amazing .. wanna know ur views on it... do u think it was one of d best epis or not??

At least was the least controversial one so far, and it might work well too, since the only culprit in this seems to be GOI.

Hope people realize that in the last 30 odd years, almost all political parties have been at the helm of affairs and have done ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to arrest this rampant abuse of the natural resources.

Just keeping my fingers crossed that the discussion doesn't become political in nature.

No idea about that at all.

I'd seen an interview of Dr. Vandana Shiva on Lok Sabha TV once, and became so inspired that I even downloaded the forms to take training in becoming a farmer in one of the camps she runs off-Delhi.

The reality hit as I realized that I'm a city-girl born and bred, and do NOT own agricultural land, nor am likely to ever. Damn reality

they mentioned there are farmer markets, and some sell organic produce as well but i am not sure our Sabji mandi and the farmer markets are the same thing.

No they are not. The farmer's markets operate in high profile aeas such as Bandra where all the 3 Khans live (taken form last week's episode)

###Dr Norman Borlaug

WHO INTRODUCED PESTICIDES
###Scientists in the west

when the rest of the world is against them. a industry of 8000crore Rs,
###The rest of the world WASN'T always against them-they were widely used. However, after research proved that some pesticides were carcinogenic, many countries banned their use.Unfortunately India was NOT one of them.
WHY they haven't been banned yet in India-well the answer is there implicit in your question itself!
Rs 80000 crores IS a LOT of money to be made!
Lack of Political will?
