Heya everyone
Today i wanted to read a completed FF so I visited the FF forum and i came across a FF which gave me a feeling of having read the same somewhere before.. I pasted some lines in google and realized that the entire FF was copied from a mills and boon novel..
I dont know if it was my day of finding plagiarized stuff but i opened another FF and the language had me checking it out and i found the lines copied from a harry potter FF
I know this topic has been discussed before and may be its wrong on my part to make a post on the discussion forum again but I feel its unfair to many FF writers who write well but are not encouraged just because there are a few "writers" who copy better,,
It is unfair to all the readers too who read and appreciate someone who doesnt deserve the appreciation...
So this is a request to all the FF readers
Whenever you read any FF and decide to follow it paste a few lines in google..Do so at least a couple of times by choosing random lines. Remember more than five words in a sequence is plagiarism. If you find that a work has been plagiarized report it and paste the link in the plagiarism complaint box.
Writers do consult prof. google too to check if your FF are not pasted elsewhere,,,
Mills and boon readers, if you come across any familiar FF which looks straight from a mills and boon novel please don't ignore it. Recently i reported another FF from a famous mills and boon novel and i didnt even have to use my dear professor google for that..
Do not support plagiarism,.. We writers take time from a busy schedule to use these characters and pen down something.
so for the sake of all your writer friends, keep your eyes open and do consult professor google before you decide to comment..

I have a few suggestions for now..
Last time i had this discussion with khushi, she had told me that the mods are not into reading FFs and i guess they have a lot on their plate already.. so how about we have a group of people, who can differentiate between an original and a plagiarized FF- this girl rima said she could and i guess even i have caught enough plagiarized stuff on this forum.. So how about we have a group of 7-8 members (from ipk forum obviously) who are into this FF rules thingy...
I stressed on the number of people for this cz its a big responsibility.. looking at the number of FFs, it will take whole day for one or two members.
Now every person posting an FF should be made to take permission from this group which will in turn check for plagiarism. This will make these copying people think twice before pasting.. once checked, we can give the responsibility to someone in the group or a member who follows the FF to check for plagiarism in the remaining chapters ...
Once we have checked for plagiarism in the first chapter, it can be marked saying that the FF is genuine and also that every person posting FF should pm this group' this will cause awareness about the rule.. at the same time we should watch out for new ffs posted by ppl who are not aware of it..
this group can also look out for FF rule breakers and attend to all problems connected to ffs.
Secondly we can have something like warning levels for people who break IF rules... the warning level can be displayed along below their DP.. a certain number of warning levels and the id gets banned.
