low,bhavya,A2zv ,Wibs and others r right. But we should take into account the following points

1 present storyline is not strong.CVs have already started to spoil the characters.for eg.Gopi doubting after confession, Ahem dumb, fight between Koki and Hetal.

2 Jiaane is character(actually all the actors have done this)ko apnehi rangme rang diya hai to us per doosara rang chadhna mushkil/namumkin hai.whenever I read os/ffI read them thinking of Gina in my mind. Now atleat for me it cant change.

3Personality of Jia and Dev is very different. If u like/love Jiaa than it is difficult that u accept dev easily.

4 It was long 2.5 years.

Anna you read what the topic maker says. He says actors face is not important they can get beggars lepers to play the characters. He is talking about physical appearance not the acting capabilities. He s talking about having a good face etc. Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder. . . If the writer dint write enough then the actor could not emote. I am not saying you dont need good actors for a role. You need good actors but the script is anyday more important . We all know how great actors can deliver flops with bad scripts while normal actors deliver hits with good scripts.

Vibha I just re read her post, her choice of words really harsh. But the undeniable truth is that physical appearance also make a part of an actor. I will quote the example of Raghuvir Yadav, he is an actor par excellence. But his height is his biggest drawback. I remember him playing lead role in only one movie which potrayed dilemma a of a short man who is unsecured of his tall wife. So dear what I am trying to say is in the real world physical attributes of the actress / actor is equally important.

The majority of the audience looks for good looking actors and actresses because they want a change from their daily grind.

Vibha, my dear, you are a dear friend and if you feel our little discussion will make the forum more somber than it already is let me stop.

Anna if you want we cant take this discussion elsewhere ... I dont think we are even talking about the show here so i hope people show some maturity and dont get into this. I think we should take this some place else so that the vultures dont descend😆.

I agree Vibha, this is a very general discussion. I have been done a fair bit of stage in my earlier years. So my passion for my fellow actors came out. I enjoyed being an actress while it lasted and then work and family took priority. So I had to empathize with the challenges my fellow actors face not only due to their acting capabilities but appearance too.

Well a storyline is definitely important, that is where the ideas stem from but also the characters who bring the story to life. It takes artistes, actors a while to get into the role or skin of the character and it is gradual. I have seen shows with an awesome story but refuse to see it cauz the casting sucks big time and vice versa. Both work in tandem.

Coming to the actual point of your post - One cannot expect someone to fab on Day1, esp when you have had a predecessor who seems to have left an indelible impression on the audience. Stepping in those shoes is most difficult. One can never satisfy and play upto all the segments of the audience but one can try.

And no it isnt about being broadminded but about giving someone a chance, a chance which they got cause a certain someone decided to look for greener pastures. If not for that they wouldnt have been in this predicament. Neither those who are classified as "broad minded".
