they have STARIGHTFORWARD

one was suspenes missing husband thriller, other Sx comedy about sperm donor and other was life story od sportmen turned dacait

shanghai had so many LAYERS for aam junta unlike those and that is DB banarjee speciality

he doesnt SPOONFEED the audince

not just shanghai

take DB last year again complicated film last year

SWADES roket singh

and many more

point uis audince stull doesnt want film where they have to get ENGAGE

I think its because people watch films to enjoy themselves, release stress, etc and masala movies/ mindless movies/ simple cinema etc is what does that for them.

shanghai is still one of bravest film come out in bollywood IMO i thinki movie will have longer shelf life just like roket singh swades and dhobi ghaat

Yes we aren't and im one of them. I watch movies to enjoy, by enjoyment i dont necessarily mean katrina or kareena shaking their asses, its something which involves me and has enough grip keeping aside whether its funny or serious. Race happens to be my most enjoyable experience till date, i was very involved through out.

Shangai's problem was not the serious content, it was the slow pace which killed it!
