Abhay readies for an Eye Fight!

Tellystars generally aspire for Hindi films but there are a select few who are lucky enough to bag a good film, that too an English film! Abhay Vakil of Palkhi fame is one of them.

Abhay Vakil: "I play a psychopath"

Tentatively titled Eye Fight, the movie showcases Abhay playing the most challenging role of his career, that of a psychopath. To be produced by Andy Patel and directed by Carol, this 70 minutes film will star a host of actors from the US. Scheduled to go on floors in August, the makers have adopted a start to finish shooting schedule. But to the disappointment of Abhay's fans, this film will only be pitched for the film festivals abroad (Cannes and Locarno) and might not be released in India.

"I play a psychopath (Peter) who embodies many personalities, that of a female, a teenager and a child. At times I behave like a 10 year old kid and at times like a 30 year old adult. The character is sketched in such a way that people will sympathise with him. It's a very performance oriented and realistic role, " elaborates Abhay. "When I was narrated the role by Carol via email, I grabbed the offer without batting an eyelid," gushes the actor who has worked with Andy Patel (the producer of the film) on a music video earlier.

Abhay is doing a bit of homework for this film. He is studying and analyzing his character and meeting people of the different age groups that will enhance his performance.

So we ask the actor if this movie means bidding farewell to television...
"Well, I am open to any medium as long as I derive creative satisfaction from it. I don't want to essay clichd roles like that of a typical husband or a brat which I've already played in the past. I'm glad that shows with different concepts like Jab Love Hua and Left Right Left are being made. I would love to be a part of a such genre," points out this Mumbai bred actor who is busy modeling for the catalogues of Westside stores.

Here's one actor who is choosy enough for unusual roles notwithstanding the medium...

Do we foresee other actors following suit?

Fantastic!!! What else do you call success? Actors never praise a show which they aren't a part of until it is really worth it!
