CHAPTER 25 (B). YOU, ME & THE RAIN

Place - Maan's Study Room at Khurana Mansion

Maan sighed as he took a break from his laptop. He had an important meeting scheduled tomorrow and he had decided to work on it from home after work hours. As soon as he had reached home today, he had enclosed himself in his room and worked on his laptop. After his yesterday's act of teasing Soni, she had refused to talk to him and today also she gave him a cold shoulder. In normal circumstances, he would have tried to apologize but today he was too busy preparing for the meeting tomorrow and ignored her anger in lieu of his work.

Soni had not talked to him the whole day and this matter was annoying him. Infact, he had not seen her from the morning. He had seen her last when she went into the kitchen as soon as he sat in front of the dining table. Even in the evening, she had refused to show him her face. She had sent Nakul to tell him that NT and Dadima had gone out for shopping and Dev was not yet back from the Office and will be late. All three will be present by the dinner time.

Maan went back to typing on his laptop after taking a break. He put on the radio to drive away the emptiness from the room but all it talked about was the weather forecast. He rolled his eyes. Suddenly, it started raining. Maan looked outside and raised his eyebrow. Bin Mausam barsaat! Weird! Soon, it turned into downpour and the water started coming in through the windows. Maan, worried for his laptop and papers spread on the study table, ran towards the window to close it. He closed the left side and was about to close the right side when he glanced at the grounds of the house and he stopped breathing. There stood Soni in the middle of the rain, getting wet. She was dressed in a white patiala suit and Maan believed that he was seeing an angel. Her hair left open was fully drenched in the rain. She had her hands raised and eyes closed. Maan swallowed. He leaned against the window and stared at her. Soon, the radio stopped droning about the weather and a song started with a guitar tune.

Yun Tera Muskurana

Soni smiled and Maan smiled tenderly looking at her face. She had yet to notice him.

Soni ran towards the swing in the garden and sat on it. She started swinging on it. Maan wished he was also sitting beside her, swinging with her.

Maan could not stop himself. He closed the window and ran downstairs abandoning his work. He ran towards the main door and stopped near it. Soni had ditched the swing by then and was again standing in the rain enjoying it. Maan folded his hands against his chest, crossed his ankles and leaned against the door. He smiled tenderly again.

He remembered their first meet; the way the dupatta had flown away and he, for the first time, had noticed her face. Maan closed his eyes and remembered how she had claimed taking care of his things as her haq.

Jannat Zameen Pe Aayi Utarke

Khushiyon Ne Jaise Chun Sa Liya

Maan opened his eyes. He remembered how beautiful she had looked in the pink saree; in his dream and in reality too.

Maan walked towards Soni. He stood behind her and she noticed someone behind her. She turned around and looked at Maan. Maan was floored. With rainwater on her face, her whole face glowed in the light coming from the mansion. He noticed the rain water trail down her forehead to her lips. Her lips! Her lips lured him asking him to kiss her. He glanced at her eyes. She gave him a smile, excited that he was here to enjoy the rain with her. As soon as she smiled, Maan's eyes drew back to her lips from her eyes.

Maan pulled his eyes away from her lips when he noticed a strand of hair on her face. He did not want it there. He raised his right hand and pushed the hair away.

He cupped her face with the same hand and pulled her close. She blushed, looked down and tried to move away.

Maan caught her right hand with his right hand. He pulled her close and hugged her. She hugged him back.

Soni slowly raised her face and looked into Maan's eyes. Maan looked back at her and smiled at her. She blushed and smiled back. The rain had stopped long back. Suddenly, they heard squealing of tires. The family was back. Maan and Soni looked at the gate and looked back at each other. Maan's eyes widened as he looked at Soni. What had he done? He looked at her horrified. Soni glanced back at her confused. Why was he reacting in such a way? What was wrong? Soni wondered. Maan started taking steps backward. He should not have done this. He should not have hugged her in such a manner. He should not have let his attraction affect him so badly. No…..No…..NO! He should not have done that. He turned towards the door of the house and walked away.

Maan walked swiftly to his room and sat down on his bed. What had he done? Oh God! What had he done? He should not have done this. He covered his face with his hands. Immediately, he remembered the way he felt when he saw Soni's lips, the way he felt when he hugged her. Maan removed his hands from his face and stared at his hands. He ran towards his bathroom and splashed some water on his face. But the image refused to go away from his mind. He opened the shower and stood under it.

Soni was shocked. Why Maan reacted in such a way? She was miffed. Suddenly, she remembered the hug, the way Maan had cupped her face and she blushed. She hid her face in her hands and smiled into her hands. She ran towards the house and entered it. Luckily, NT and Dadi was removing the bags from the car's dicky and passing it to Nakul due to which they had not noticed Soni run away into the house.

Soni ran into her room and lied on the bed. She pulled a pillow close to her and hugged it. She ran into her bathroom and stared at her face. "Bas kar Soni, kitna sharmaayegi.", she told her image in the mirror. She blushed again and ran back into her room. She twirled around and again lied on the bed.

It was dinner time and the whole family was eating; well everybody except Maan. He was lost in his thoughts. Dev had to nudge him every few minutes to bring him out of his thoughts and make him eat the food. But what surprised the family was not Maan's preoccupied behaviour but Soni's smile. Soni was sporting a full fledged grin and kept on glancing at Maan and blushing. Dadima smiled. Chalo kuch din pehle Maan Soni ko ghoor raha tha aaj Soni Maan ko ghoor rahi hai. Hey Babaji bas aisi hi ghoorte ghoorte dono mein pyaar hojaaye aur mere Maan ka ghar bas jaaye! Hey Babaji, Mera yeh ek sapna poora kardijiye!

P.S. This chapter is again dedicated to additishah! It was her request that I write a one separate post for Maaneet and one separate post for Arhi! Thanks for the idea, buddy!

sorry I didn't reply back for part a of this its just I thought it would be better to read both parts together
well I don't like reading or watching things until and unless I know about the second part just weird that way I am afraid

yeh dono maan aur arnav ka hamesha preoccupation keval khana khate waqt kyun hota hai aur dono khana nahin khatte hain
waise achaa hi kya joh arhi aur maaneet ka rian sequence alag rakha varna yahan wahan karte karte shayad confusion ho jaata
waah yeh rain sequence neh toh dono ladko ke saath saath ladkiyon ke bhi hosh udaa diye

for a minute when khushi mentioned about ignoring arnav i panicked but luckily our girl realised how foolish that move would be hence didn't go for it thank God

by the way why is it that khushi has to keep telling arnav to call her afreen considering it was him who gave her this name and insisted to call her that kabhi kabhi yeh arnav muhje bilkul samajh mein nahin aata exactly how our girl also feels about him

oye teri maan beta ab jab galti se apne geet ko gale laga hi liya hai toh ab toh aap kuch karr nahin sakte naa dekhna yeh jaroor apne denial aur confuse soni mode mein jaane waale hain

so arnav almost kissed khushi while maan hugged geet and yet both will keep on denying this feeling for their respective partners koi gal nahin ji ab bahut derr ho gayi hai you both cant run away from them

so there will be jealousy track in arhi goody this will be fun

waise yeh toh sach kaha koi naa koi toh chahiye hi hai iss ff mein joh haemin hamesha hasa sakke aur who hain hamare akash aur dev babu
