Shocking statistics by CHILDLINE CHILDLINE is the first 24 hours free and emergency phone service available in India, especially for children in need of help and assistance. Any kid who is going through distress should simply call the CHILDLINE number 1098. Their call for hope and help, assures CHILDLINE will be answered.

The CHILDLINE has covered various issues ranging from missing to protection from abuse, medical help to restoration and death to sponsorship. The service has been active for quite some time now, and has come up with some shocking revelations. 20 per cent of the issues covered by CHILDLINE are of missing people, while 10 per cent about protection from abuse. Also 21 per cent of the issues were about medical help and 16 per cent about shelter. Moreover 16 per cent of the issues covered were about death and sponsorship

As per the statistics, almost 94 per cent of the teenagers arrested for crime were boys, compared to the 6.2 per cent of the gals. Also, almost 96.5 per cent of the juvenile crimes were committed by the teenagers in the age-group of 12-18. One of the most common crime committed by the teenagers was theft, which was followed by burglary, hurt, riots, murders and rape.
