This change in the gender of actresses came after a public statement by Pooja Bhatt during an award function a few years ago. Sh asked why call "female actors" "actresses", and if that was the norm what would we call "women writers" and " female directors".

Btw, only in India is the term actress not used. Oscars and Cannes and Golden Globes, in their unwisdom still give out "Best Actress" award each year.

Well if someone compared me to a man, I would be insulted. C'mon I'm not that paltry a creature. LOL!!!

Even my parents, despite all our faults, they wouldn't exchange their "brilliant daughters" for a son (please observe the lack of modesty and the note of self-congratulation, in that statement, just in case you missed it)

In my opinion, the episode would be the heroism of common man - incidents like the engineer who got killed by the fuel mafia in UP, the road inspector who was murdered in Mharashtra for taking on fraud in Express Highway contract. Basically on whistle-blowers.
