TERI MERI KAHANI
PART 2
The first day at school was amazing for Khushi. She had made friends and had enjoyed her day. She was excited to know that her new friends live close by. So the day after school won't be boring at all. She went to home by walking with her sister. Payal asked about her day and she happily gave a detailed description.
"Did you make any new friends Khushi?"
"Yes di. I made 3 new friends."
"Oh tell me about them."
"Oh so my first friend was Arnav. Di he is usually quiet but has a very sharp mind. And has a beautiful handwriting. Next is Anurag Singhal. Di he is the only boy who can run up to Arnav's speed and he is fun loving. And is a mathematics wizard. And the last but not the least is Nidhi, she is Arnav's best friend and is talkative just like me."
"that's great Khushi. Finally we're home."
"Di where does Vikas sir live?"
"Khushi he lives on first floor just above our home"
"And Anurag?"
"He lives next door."
"Oh"
~*~*~
Arnav Singh Raizada was usually a quiet one. He only talked when it really mattered. He was not cold but was not that warm also. He was a good looking boy and even few of the girls of his class had mentioned him to be their first crush. Even his sister's friends commented that he would have en number of girlfriends. He was far mature that other of his classmates. His father was the country's prominent businessman. He had an elder sister Anjali Singh Raizada who was in the same school (in Payal's section). His father adored him and he too held his father in high regards. His mother had died when he was young; his dadi had taken care of them since. He loved his family. His dadi was strict but loving, traditional but understanding. A perfect example of hot and cool. His father no matter however busy would always took out time for his family. He would regularly attend Parent Teacher Meetings, would take them on picnic every two months. They lived in the posh area of Vaishali. And had a huge bungalow. Arnav's two closest friends were Nidhi and Anurag. Although Nidhi was his best friend. She knew in which direction Arnav's head worked, she would easily make situations a lot simpler for him. And for the last two years she was the one who was submitting Arnav's and Anurag's Hindi and social studies assignments'..
Anurag Singhal was the one who followed the policy of "I am a great friend to my friends and a worst enemy to my enemies." He had brains and looks. He talked less to others but would not shut up in his friends company. He enjoyed playing pranks. He had an elder brother who was a first year student. Chirag Singhal. His father had an electronics shop in the nearby RG complex and mother worked at bank. He loved his parents and family but was could not express his love. A small issue would turn up huge and he ended speaking rude words. He just couldn't express his feelings. He was hardworking to the core and always ended in top three of the class. He was friends with Arnav and Nidhi. Although the whole class considered him to be their friend but he only considered those two as his friends. He liked Arnav. He was a good competitor and a great friend. Never had any sort of air about him. They both had same interests and enjoyed each others company. They never liked to mingle with girls like other boys did. And Nidhi was a friend in need is a friend indeed types. Always ready to help. No matter whatever is the situation? The fact he loved about Nidhi was, he had never seen her crying in last 7 years. He just didn't like soppy girls.
Nidhi Bhardwaj was from a Brahmin family. She was intelligent and smart. She too had an elder brother Rohan Bhardwaj who was a first year student. Nidhi's main aim in life was to have fun. No matter whatever is the situation? The brother and sister duo enjoyed and loved each other a lot. They would laugh at every silly joke that would make their parents wonder. "Have we given birth to normal children?" oh they both had another hobby too. They both loved to shut others who try to offend them. Nidhi loved whatever she did. And she was proud at her decisions. She had an awesome best friend Arnav Singh Raizada, who would do anything for her just like her. They both shared each and everything with each other. And the best part was sometimes they just need not open up their mouth to tell anything, it was understood. Just like he knew she had a serious crush on Anurag since class 6th. Nidhi always enjoyed male attention. Be it her father, brother, best friend and other boys of the class.
Khushi's father Shashi Gupta was government employee. He belonged to Lucknow but had been transferred to Delhi. He had two daughters from two different women. Garima was his wife but never his love. He had married her for his parent's sake. And they had a daughter too. Payal. She was calm and quiet and had sharp brains. Although he did not love Garima but respected her as she had legally adopted his daughter Khushi. Shashi Gupta loved Karuna. She lived in Lucknow and he would pay frequent visits their. Karuna had never asked for money or anything. She never encouraged Shashi to cheat on his wife. And when he did not pay any heed to her pleas, she shifted in some other corner of Lucknow without telling anybody. And that time she was pregnant with his child. She had given birth to her daughter and raised her for 12 years. Life plays dirty games. She soon realized this when her doctor told she had ovarian cancer and it was at last stage. She was not afraid to die but was worried about her daughter and then for the first twelve years she called Shashi gupta to Lucknow and handed her daughter, her last remembrance to her lover. Shashi could not decide whether he should be happy or sad. He had met his daughter after 12 years but had lost his Karuna. After performing all the last rites he had brought Khushi to Delhi and had told everything to his wife. He was sure that she would walk out with Payal. But that never happened. She came forward and hugged Khushi when the 12 year old held her hands together and softly greeted her. "Namaste aunty."
"No beta I am your maa."
"But my mummy is with god."
"Beta she sent me at her place for you."
That day Khushi Gupta had her first dream come true. To have a family. She had mom and dad. She had a sister too.
