The Balaji camp is all set to add a new K to its kitty. The show in question is Kasturi (as the tentative title goes) inspired by Yash Chopra's yesteryears' romantic hit Silsila. Sources reveal that the upcoming serial will go on air by the end of August.

While Balaji is still hunting for it's male lead, whose character name is Garv, a source from the production house reveals that Pallavi Subhash (Preeto from Tumhari Disha) has been penciled in to play the title role of Kasturi. Apart from Pallavi the other actors who've been signed on are -Amit Dua (Sameer of Kyunki…) is slated to play the second lead, Jatin Shah (SaharaOne's Saath Rahega Always), Vinay Jain(Remix fame), Salil Ankola, model turned actors Rahul Jagtiani and Muzamil Akhtar.

"I play Aryamaan, a business tycoon. I am Salil Ankola's younger brother, who is very individualistic and a strong willed guy. Both of us just cannot see eye to eye in the serial and are always at loggerheads with each other," says Vinay Jain. He further says, "I've just signed on the show a few days ago and we start shooting next month in Kolkatta. I am very excited about the rich look that I have in the show."

When contacted, Pallavi was reluctant to reveal much about her character. She said, "A model co-coordinator had forwarded my portfolio to Ekta. She liked it and asked me to give a screen test. However, things are still in their initial stages and I've yet to sign on the dotted line."

Though Silsila, the Bollywood flick was all about love, romance, marriage and adultery, as per our source, but Kasturi's story is much more complicated. The show will probably have four male characters and one protagonist, with various different plots weaved in. Apart from this, the serial will also be garnished with the usual Balaji tadka.

Well, lets hope the mega soap breaks away from the prime time clutter!.
