STRUGGLE-Theme of HD

Struggle, the very word brings a sense of fear, but it is also the motive behind our survival.Imagine a world where everything comes easily to us;we just make a wish and it is granted. And as everything is easily available to us,we don't need to work,we don't need to aspire,or dream.Gosh!it gives a sense of being almost dead to me.It is rather worth living a life with struggles, than a life which has no purpose at all.And coming to the point,I think script-writer,Illa Bedi Dutta has taken up a very strong theme for her story. But the theme would justify the story only if it is used in a broader sense. In other words, the writer has to bring the struggle of Indira, the protagonist of the story, along with the struggle of Rishi also.Because it is not only Indira's story now,it has become the story of both Indira and Rishi;and as individual characters, their struggles will be on a different level, although bringing them together for one goal-get a life of their own, built with love and trust;overcome the hurdles of life together. The journey started with Indira and her life, which she has dedicated to her family, but gradually in her struggles, she meets a U-turn,where another individual awaits her to accompany;and along with this other individual,Rishi,Indira continues her journey, but with a new purpose, with new hope. And in this struggle for getting a better life, happiness, company, both Indira and Rishi has to overcome the test of time.At present, the test they have to go through is the test of loyalty and commitment, which I think is a strong point in the story;yes,if handled well, without abruptly ending it.

Now in the present story, we're seeing that,Rishi is scared to loose Indira after what has been happening in their lives lately, and this feeling of insecurity has grown deep after Rishi sees a stranger staying at the same house, using the same 'barsaati',and becoming friendly with Indira too.And Indira on the other hand, has sensed the green-eyed monster that is disturbing Rishi,as we've seen, but she is not giving it so much of a thought on this, which will gradually turn into a serious misunderstanding, bringing their relationship into question. And eventually,Rishi might leave SN,and go away from Indira's life. Then Indira might come into her senses and realize what a mess she has, though unconsciously, made;and then she will have another fight, fight to bring back Rishi.Well,if the story takes this turn it is going to be interesting, because I think the two getting married and living happily ever after will make it a fairy tale, and I'm sure we don't want to see a fairy-tale;we want a story, which mirrors real life, real people with real situations, and this will definitely make the story more real.Because as I've sensed, most of us want Rishi to stand up and take a stand,to let his feelings rest for a while and let reason guide his life.I mean he does have many unfinished business, besides love;he is probably 30-31 years of age,and he is unemployed, doesn't have a home, doesn't have a social life. There is lots that the CVs need to bring out in the character Rishi, along with the struggle of Indira's life.In fact, both Indira and Rishi's struggles can go parallely. But this struggle doesn't mean they will drift apart from each other emotionally,or the Cvs,or the writer will bring in other characters to pair them. The story is going to be interesting only when it is not deviated from the theme;and the theme is the protagonist's struggle with everyday life;but this struggle doesn't have to be only Indira's,it can also be Rishi's,with his individual life. This is what happens in our lives;we fall in love,we fall out of love;we get married, have families of our own,but the struggle goes on.And struggle doesn't mean any accidents, all the time;or family emergencies;struggle might me one trying to get a job,but not getting one due to x-y-z reasons;struggle might be one trying to overcome one's fear of loving someone;or one's health condition;or struggle might be one trying to provide good life and education to one's children.,etc.There is indeed no end to struggle as long as we're alive. We live with it,we grow in it,and we learn to overcome it too.So if struggle is the theme of 'Hitler Didi',than there is wide variety of options to the writer to pen it down. All she needs is to execute her writings in a proper way so as to convince the audience that, they're also a part of this struggle. And in the midst of all this struggle for survival, she can high-light the story of romance between Indira and Rishi, which will make the journey worth trying. It will indeed be interesting to see if any other female character is introduced, opposite Rishi, not as a lead,or to pair up with him,but only as a friend, who comes in to help Rishi in,whether getting to work,or making Indira feel the sense of insecurity, the same way as Rishi is sensing. It is in fact,Indira, who needs to understand that, there is a chance that she might loose Rishi;that he is not always going to be there beside her if she doesn't understand his feelings, and the reasons for his insecurity towards her. From the beginning,Indira knows that Rishi has been on her side no matter what the circumstances were;and that he has nowhere to go;that Rishi is dedicated to her.And this feeling in her subconscious is making her take Rishi's feeling lightly. So,its time Indira feels the threaten of loosing Rishi to someone else, and taking up the matter seriously. And I think,if this story-line is followed,it can run long, without affecting the love-story of Indira and Rishi.Besides,we'll are eager to see Rishi develop as a character; his struggle for standing up on his feet, proving himself to the world that,he is more than a lover;that he can also carry responsibilities when times call for it,all these can go parallely with Indira's struggle with her destiny. And down the lane, may be few months from now,Indira and Rishi will have a stronger relationship, which will grow deeper emotionally.
This is what I feel the story should go from here onwards, but of course, every one of you will have your part of the story. So,whether you'll agree,or disagree, share your views on the story that you have been thinking for the future track of 'HD'.

Well written Earnshaw! Thanks for sharing your imagination. šŸ‘ I would like to see this happening in HD.

(Just a little tip for next time: Try to divide your text into sections. It will be easier to read. šŸ˜‰ )

Wonderful post and awesome analysis...
In one way I think Indira's recent behaviour is staying true to her character...
Need to control, dictating terms, thinking from only her perspective and completely dominating
others are her character traits...I don't believe when people say she is made a Hitler...she
has all these traits in her personality and the circumstances brought them out in full force...
Intact these characteristics helped her take the lead and save her family until now and the very
same characteristics are responsible for her inability to sustain the relationships despite holding
great love and respect for them at heart...I am glad that the creative's chose to show how its
affecting her relationship with rishi instead of saying that love has changed everything...As you
say if the writers are planning to show her struggle to overcome these hurdles to sustain her
relationships then,I am all for it...
Rishi has his own journey...His struggle is to overcome his fear of loosing, developing trust
not just in his but, in his partners love...For this he needs to come out of the illusion that he
is the only one to understand and the only refuse to Indira if at all he has any...He needs to
have faith that Indira chose him because she loves him and not because he is the only best choice...If this competition with Sumer is going to push him to stand up for himself and prove his worth to Indira and in the process leads to his realisation of the extent of love and respect Indira holds for him then,it would just be an awesome journey for all of us ...Only hope that the
creative's maintain the continuity and take us through the growth in their characters instead of
abruptly ending and switching over for which they are very famous for...😊

Completely agree with your take on the theme of Hd😊 and yes i would like to see the future tack in the same way as you have describedšŸ‘šŸ¼. Indeed, earlier Indira's struggle of getting a translator-cum-assistant overnight, her struggle to manage budget and give pocket money to mandira, her struggle to reach office on time after keeping awake the previous night for ishaan, were all well-potrayed . These are actually the stuggle of every middle-class girl working for her family's survival.. and as you said story of both rishi and indira's struggle has to be crafted from these basic situations of life and if they run parallel with each other we will definitely get to see a healthy relationship
