DIANA! You're back with more brilliant, beautiful stuff on AarYa, thank goodness!
I have to thank you (and Sidra) for introducing me to this song; I love both the male and female vocals, they're so soothing! Now I won't be able to think of anyone besides Yash-Aarti whenever I hear this song thanks to your VM! 😳 It IS perfect for them!
I absolutely love your coloring and effects always, especially the way you've emphasized the beats of the song as well as a lot of key words in the song. I noticed in this VM particularly that almost every second of the song complements Gurmeet/Kratika's gestures. I absolutely love that their body language is nuanced enough that we can admire that in the episodes and that vidders can bring it out even more through VMs like this! They're so easy on the eyes - nothing over the top about these two whatsoever, thank God! This song is equally soothing on the ears, and I'm addicted to it now!
- The opening of the song is so, so, beautiful! I especially love how you showed so many of their nighttime memories/moments in quick succession because those were the only moments of peace that they really had when they were together after getting married...
- And the way those moments lead into their first night after Aarti is forced to leave the house is amazing! "Yeh hai dua, ya hai sazaa?" LOVE how this is a perfect match for that entire phase that they went through; those nights spent in their previous "havens" that could have been peaceful for them but instead had become places of punishment and emptiness simply because of each other's absence! Ironically, for Yash, those moments of awkwardness, irritation, and discomfort probably ended up being so much nicer in retrospect...Aarti's presence was a thousand times better than the emptiness she left behind.
- "Kuch na dikhe...tere siva..." - Oh, I have to mention this here at least! The way you "frame" multiple short clips of scenes within one other scene (in this case the "bookends" are the parts at 0:30/0:34) is wonderful. Very neat!
- "Tere siva..." - Aah, I love how you brightened up Aarti's smile at the perfect moment! Adore that scene so much and yay for the cuteness overload of Aarti sticking the popsicle on Ansh's face! Love the hi-five on the beat at 0:33 as well! GAH, Kratika and Divyam are so cute.
- "Tera nasha..." - Oh my God, this is breathtaking. The transitions are flawless (they always are!) and honestly, the way she's looking at him...the way HE'S looking at her...it does seem like he's COMPLETELY intoxicated by her presence.
- 0:54-0:59 - The beats are perfect! That last "chhaaya hai" once again makes it seem like Yash is affected by Aarti in that exact way! Aarti's reaction at 0:59 is so cute, the awkwardness of not knowing how exactly to react to him looking at her like that, aww!
- "Yeh nasha badh jaaye naa..." - This entire verse is SO beautifully done, Diana! The police van scene: Gurmeet's expressions there, along with the way Kratika's hair is flying into his face - I feel like the lyrics of this part, given that this is Yash's POV, are wonderful since it genuinely looks like Yash is falling further and further into a state where Aarti's fragrance is all that he needs to be swept away into that nasha. Oh, and I absolutely LOVE how it starts out in black and white and then the color seeps in just before he sings, "kahin ragon mein chadh jaaye naa..." as if Aarti's fragrance has actually brought him to life by seeping into his veins!
The "pyaar bebas kar jaaye naa" bit is so heartbreaking because they DO look like the life has been sucked out of them...*shakes head* Wow.
- "Iss tarah khona kisi mein..." - A couple of things about this part...The lyrics and scenes are perfection...Aarti's smile at 1:26 is so sweet! Yash's searching look as Aarti gazes at him at 1:28, and the way he immediately turns when she arrives behind him at 1:32; all of that resonates so strongly of the situation he is stepping into subconsciously! He just cannot bring himself to ignore her when she's around and once their eyes meet, it's so difficult for him to pull away; the fact that he's always looking for her reactions and her approval fits so nicely with this part, and I'm sure this internal conflict of "Iss tarah khona kisi mein theek bhi hai ya nahi?" will come into play in the actual show, too.
- "Pyaar ke iss sagar mein main doob na jaaoon kahin..." - Aaahhh, the scenes that you used here! Look at how their relationship has grown so much since they took the decision of getting married for their children. The kidnapping resulted in Aarti's broken faith being restored and a strong bond of trust to form between her and Yash; it marked the first ordeal with respect to their children that they actually dealt with together, as parents, and along the way, their relationship as husband and wife also evolved! The last scene marks another huge step forward for Yash and Aarti - this time, Palak was involved, and Aarti's position as the children's "Mummy" was acknowledged freely (for the first time, that word flowed effortlessly from Yash's lips!) by Yash. Inadvertently, he also cemented his and Aarti's relationship as partners as well. *sigh* LOVE.
Sorry that this turned into an analysis essay, but I couldn't help it! This could have been longer if I wanted to go into every part that I loved, but I think this is already more than enough...
Fantastic job, Diana! I hope you'll find at least occasional chances to make more AarYa VMs to share with us! Thank you so much for this!
Random thought: I would LOVE this to be picturized on Yash and Aarti in the actual show!!! The entire song is just SO beautiful!
