I really need someone to open tomorrow's and Friday's thread for me, unless you guys are willing to wait a bit.
I thoroughly enjoyed today's episode, much more than the two previous. Partly because it showed progression to the story and lots character growth. I like all the characters that have been introduced a lot more now, and I'm already loving the new entrance - Roma's brother!
First scene was great, Padmini and Roma have great chemistry. And as much as Roma tries to act hard, the woman has a warmer heart. Growing up in Mumbai - the city of dreams but also a city filled with shattered and incomplete dreams, would toughen up even the loveliest of maidens. Fending for herself, trying to make a place in such a fast track industry where stars fall as quickly as they are born has made this woman into a sour tongued, snappy little diva. She tries to show she can rise by herself through her sharp remarks and quick wit. Sometimes hurtful, intentionally? I don't know. But she certainly is amusing. I also liked it when it Padmini answered back to her comments rather than standing quietly like a timid mouse. Padmini even managed to throw a preachy little speech in there to her daughter, all in good time!
Roma will help stable her, and make her stand on her own two feet without having to rely on anyone for her bread and butter. Its what you call tough love! And this woman has lots of it.
My favourite part of this episode was this next scene between Balraj and Dai. Everything was really well executed. It was so sinister, so morbid and this allowed you to feel the heavy tension, fear and anger in the air. I thought the set was incredibly apt for it, and enhanced the setting. It truly was a visual treat! The music was also much better timed. Each and every expression was well emoted without over or underplaying anything. The loon of a mother sitting and enjoying her son's torture over a woman she was only just praising yesterday clearly shows her sadistic nature. She was proud of her son's doing, sitting as the sole audience for the gruesome show he had put on. The subtle expressions and movements were brilliant. You could see the hatred on her face...hatred towards the woman who dared defy her ladla's orders.The verbal battle between the duo was strong and intense. Neither would back down, as powerful as each other! Daima's character amazed me, with death lingering behind her waiting crawl up her spine and consume her wholly she managed to keep a hard front. She wouldn't relent and she certainly wouldn't let the bas***d end her life- which only she has control over. And she has brought forth that message previously when she sent Padmini away. She left this world with great dignity, self-respect and honour.
The thakur is a crude and merciless man. Eyeing a girl young enough to be his daughter with lust. And then comes our saviour...a man I certainly hope to see more of. (Not to mention he has an awesomely deep voice 😆) Another powerful scene. There were moment when I could see Balraj feeling intimidated, questing what he would do next when previously we saw his actions were quite impulsive. And of course our hero won the battle of wills...smashing the loser's ego to pieces.
Will he be our Madhubala's father? She escaped from hell, and now he will destroy the Satan...
