Musical birthday for Karthi

The Saguni team is coming out with two songs from the film's soundtrack to mark the actor's birthday

The team behind Karthi's Saguni is planning a musical gift for their hero on his birthday by releasing two songs from the film today. The film, a political satire, is directed by debutant Shankar Dayal, and has music by G V Prakash Kumar.
Says a source from the production team, "We have planned a grand audio launch for Saguni on May 31. But since Karthi's birthday falls today, we decided that we will release two songs (out of the five songs) from the film as a gift to our hero. A folk song, Pottathu Pathala…, by Velmurugan, which has been picturised on Karthi and Santhanam and a duet, Vella Bambaram…, sung by Baba Sehgal and Priya Himsesh, that has been shot abroad, will be released today through FM radio stations." The Saguni team will also be releasing 20-second video teasers of both the songs on TV and the Internet as well. Post the audio launch on May 31, the team is planning to release 30-second teasers of all the songs from the film.
Meanwhile, even as his team gets into celebration mode, the birthday boy will be spending the day shooting for his next, Alex Pandian. "Karthi has to shoot for a crucial scene with Anushka for Suraj's film which cannot be postponed. This is also one of the reasons why we did not have the actual audio launch today itself," explains the source.
