Prayag (three rivers meet here): Devi's ten fingers fell here and the idols are Devi as Lalita (beautiful). Another name is Alopi and Shiva as Bhava. Near Tribeni ghat there is Banitirtha ghat (Quay for boats). Allahabad is the train station.

The three temples in Prayag Shaktipeeths are considered Shaktipeeths from three dfferent ideas. All the three temples are of mata Sati of Prayag Shaktipeeth. Here Devi Sati is called Lalita. The three temples are Akshaywat, Mirapur and Alopi. In Prayag, the fingers of mata Sati fell. HereLord Shiva is known by the name of Bhav.

In Akshaywat, there is a Laliteshwar Mahadev temple just nearby the Kalyani-Lalita Devi temple. According to Matasyapuran, in 108 Shaktipeeths this temple has been given the name of Lalita. The second Alopi temple that is considered to be the Shaktipeeth is around 500 kms from Daraganj in Allahabad. According to the importance of Prayag Shaktipeeth, Kalyani and Lalita are considered to be the same.

According to the scriptures, Laliteshwar Mahadev temple is situated in the holy premises of Akshaywat in Vayavya corner of north-west corner near the bank of Yamuna. In addition, an another temple in Allahabad is considered to be a Shaktipeeth. This temple is of Bhagwati Kalyani. The idol of mata in this temple has four hands and is sitting on the Lion. There is glowing wheel on her heads.

Lalita devi temple is located in Mirapur locality and is 108 feet high.

Lalita Devi shaktipith pramukh 51 shaktipitho me se ek hain. Purano me varnit kathao ke anusar Mata Sati apne pita Prajapati Daksh ke yagya me yogagni dwara jab apne sharir ko bhasmibhoot kar liya, tab Bhagvan Shankar atyant krodhit ho gay aur Mata Sati ke nirjiv deh ko apne kandhe par lekar brahmand bhraman ke sath sath tandav nritya karne lage. Tab sampurn brahmand ko is bhayankar parlay se bachane ke liye Bhagvan Vishnu ne Mata Sati ke us mrit sharir ko apne Sudarshan Chakra se 51 bhago me vibhakt kar diya aur Tirthraaj Prayag hi wah param pavan bhumi hai jaha Mata Sati ke hath ki anguli giri thi. Mata Sati yaha Lalita Devi shaktipith roop me jabki Bhagvan Bholenath yaha Bhav Bhairav roop me pratishthit hain. Prayag me shaktipith hone ke karan Prayag ko tirthraaj kea lava peethraaj bhi kaha jata hai.

Navratra ke suavsar par yaha bhavya mele ka aayojan kiya jata hai, jisme hazaro shraddhalu shraddha aur harshollaspurvak bhag lete hain. Shaktipith hone ke karan Maa Lalita Devi Mandir me yu to hamesha hi bhakto ka tanta laga rahta hai, parantu in dino Maa ki pooja aradhna ka kuchh vishesh hi mahtva hota hai.
