CHAPTER 3

"So this is what you all have designed for DI.???"

Khushal and Riana felt miserable. But both of them had believed in Khushi's potential and she had always proved them right. Howcome Khushi had let them down now??? Khushal could not face Arnav.

"Hello Khushal??? Riana??? I'm talking to you guys. Kahan kho gaye ho??? "

"Kuch nahi Arnav tum batao"

"Haan, mein yeh keh raha tha ki , this lehnga is just too perfect for DI. Yeh tumhari behen ne design kiya kya???"

Khushal and Riana were wonderstruck.

"yeah Khushi ne yeh sab kiya"

"wow I would like to meet her. I mean how did she know. Meine kuch changes ke baare mein bataya tha na, i wanted the lehnga to be a light pink shade and also wanted simple and weightless design and this one turned out to be perfect. This is just amazing and i'm sure di will love it"

"Dekha meri behen ki kamaal"

"haan maanna padega, tumhare jaise toh voh bilkul nahi hein"

"Wait wait OMG when did ASR start joking???" Riana interrupted the two friends.

"jiski zindagi khud mazaak banke rah gaya ho voh kar bhi to kya sakte hein???"

Riana felt bad for bringing up that question. But they never asked him the reason. They only knew that he had some problems in his married life and his wife had left him. But why they didnt know.

"Khushi kahan hein?"Khushal asked Riana. Arnav was shocked as he thought the question was for him but then within seconds he registered the fact that Khushal was talking about his sister to his wife.

"Voh , abhi abhi yahin thi pata nahi kahan chali gayi!!!"

Khushal took his phone to call Khushi

"Meri behna, kahan ho tum???"

"Bhai mein ghar mein hoon, Rishi ke saath"

"OK hum bas thodi der mein nikal rahe hein. Tumhe pata hein ASR ko tumhara banaya lehnga bahut pasand aaya. Congratulations."

"Sach bhai. Wow thats great news for me. THANK him from my side." But Khushi knew that before that Arnav would surely like the design and colour or DI.

"Voh tum khud keh dena. Hum abhi aa rahe hein. Bye"

"par bhai..." But before Khushi could reply she heard beep sound on the other end.

"Voh ghar chali gayi hein , Rishi ke saath khel rahi hein" Khushal told Arnav and Riana after ending the call.

"So chalo ASR mere ghar chalte hein. Tum aaj tak mere Khushi se nahi mile na aaj tum mere pyaari behna se miloge"

"I am so sorry Khushal, mujhe maaf kardo yaar ,Di ke shaadi mein toh sirf do din baccha hein , i have to go"

"Par.."

"U know i really wanted to come.. par aaj nahi, DI ke shaadi ke baad mein ek din zaroor aaunga. Vaise you all should be present on Sunday at Shantivan. Tumhe pata hein na ki humne iss baar zyada logon ko nahi bulaya hein. You 4 need to come ok"

"K then BYE"

"BYE"

Arnav left taking the lehnga with him. Khushal and Riana left ffor home. Meanwhile Khushi was tensed thinking how she would face him after a gap of one and a half years. But she had no other choice. Even if she tried to escape her brother would find out the truth. So she was now prepared to face him. She was prepared now to face the great ARNAV SINGH RAIZADA after all these years.

Khushi opened the door expecting to see him again. But no. It was just her bhai and bhabhi.

"ASR ko kuch kaam tha isliye voh nahi aa paya"

Khushi felt relieved. At least this time she escaped.

"Aur haan Khushi we have to leave on Saturday. Hum sab jaa rahe hein shaadi mein. Tumhe bhi aana hi hoga."

"Par bhai mein vahan kisi ko nahi jaanti, mein vahan aake kya karungi???"

"Hum hein na hume to tum jaante hi ho, baaki vahan jaakar jaan lenge"

This was another big task ahead of her. Today she had escaped but she knew that she wont be able to do that again. She couldnt go back to Shantivan as such. Khushi was in a trauma , and was thinking of ways to get past the hurdle in front of her.

Anjali's sangeet was going on in full swing. Arjun was there. Arnav was back from Mumbai but was not to be seen anywhere.

Arnav was standing alone by the poolside. He had failed to understand his love, his wife,his Khushi. She had told him many a times that she never loved SHYAM and how he had tricked them into believing him. It was all his fault that his Khushi was not with him. He went back to the day which turned his life upside down

~~~FLASHBACK ~~~

It was the last day of the 6^th month.

"Arnavji ek baar hamari baat pe viswaas kar lijiye. Hum sach bol rahe hein. Aap chaho to jiji se pooch lijiye"

"Khushi tumhe kya lagta hein , ki mein jaake Payal se yeh sab poochonga. You are mistaken Mrs. Khushi Kumari Gupta Singh Raizada. Sirf kuch ghante aur and then i will be free. Tum vaapas Khushi Kumari Gupta ban jayegi. Tum mere zindagi se nikal jaaoge and then everything will be fine. Jaise pehle tha vaise hi hoga"

And then he walked out of his room. Khushi watched his retreating form while she sat there crying. By about 11:45 she stood up. He had not returned , she had a last look at their no his room. She left without telling anyone.

Arnav returned to him room in the morning. She had gone. Her bags were gone. He wanted to kill himself for doing this to her but she, she had decieved him, his family. Shyam then walked into his room.

"kyun saale saheb Khushiji chali gayi???"

"Tumhe isse kya pharak padta hein???"

"Saale saheb aap jaante ho, hume aap pe taras aa raha hein. Aapne unke jagah hamari baat pe yakeen kar baithe??? Bechari apni Arnavji ke liye kya kya kar rahi thi par afsoos unke pati toh unpe vishwaas hi nahi karta!!!"

"Matlab kya hein tumhara"

"Hamara kehne ka yeh matlab hein saale saheb ki Khushiji ne aapse jo kuch bhi kaha voh sab sahi tha. Humne to aapsse jhoot bola tha. Arre voh to humse utna nafrat karte hein jitna voh aapse pyaaar karti hein. Par ab kya kare"

Arnav was shattered he took Shyam by his collar and started bashing him up. Shyam finally managed to escape and he went near Anjali who was having trouble on climbing down the stairs.

"Aap dono yeh bachon ke tarah kyun khel rahe ho"

Shyam finally caught hold of Anjali

"Arnav rukh jao varna mein tumhari behen ko dhakka de dunga"

Arnav stopped. Anjali was shocked on seeing what was going on

"Chotte yeh kya mazaak hein???"

"Mazaak nahi hein rani sahiba sacah hein. Hum aapse pyaar nahi karte. Hum bas Khushiji se pyaar karte hein aur yahi baat jaankar Arnav ne unse shaadi kar li thi voh bhi 6 maheenom keliye. 6 mahine khatam ho gaye aur voh chale gaye. Ab mein yahan rehke kya karu."

Saying this he pushed Anjali down the stairs. The whole family was shocked. Arnav rushed to his DI. They immediately rushed her to the hospital. Arnav informed the POLICE about Shyam and got him arrested.

The doctor came out of the operation theatre.

"Mr. Raizada we are extremely sorry. Hum aapke di ke bacche ko nahi bacha paye"

"Doctor DI, DI kaisi hein"

" voh Anjali abhi bhi behosh hein. She will take time to recover. She will be fine"

And as Arnav stood there looking at the stars a lone tear escaped his eyes.
