So why is Shiv Doubting Anandi??

In the pre-cap after they get the cart out of the ditch, Shivraj admits to Anandi that he was doubting her capabilities. Am wondering Why? Does he think she didn't earn the award or is a for show Sarpanch? Or is he underestimating her because of her looks, age, or because she is a gao ki ladki? Or has he simply never met a girl like Anandi? What is it that he has doubts about? And Why?

Also, why is Anandi giving him such a weird look at the water fountain? These 2 seem to currently have a lot of doubts/concerns about each other.

The only thing that is confirmed from Anandi's conversation with Dadisaa she obviously has no romantic interest in Shivraj for now. She thinks of him as the new collector whom she has to work with and that is all.

Anjana, shiv's comment had nothing to do with his doubting her capability in the area of governance or social service. He was talking to her in the context of pushing the wheel of the cart out of the mud. Her physical capability is what he doubted. She is a frail built girl with a very small bone structure so she looks very delicate ... and he told her not to try pushing the cart because she didnt have the strength to do it...and to his surprise she did manage to shove the wheel out of the mud. Also, I think seeing anandi in all her finery 😉, he expected a girl would not want to get her pretty dress dirty perhaps, but anandi just rolled up her ghagra and went to work with a good deal of elbow grease.

It is not an overall doubt about anandi's capability... just her physical strength...and perhaps her willingness to get muddy.

Agree with you. Also looking at her youth even though he has heard about her capabilities unless he sees it for himself he probably does have some doubts. And I think after the battering jagu gave her self esteem, to find a stranger who is in such a high post giving credit to her capabilities would have come as a surprise to her. The villagers know her so she knows they trust her but when someone new says that it will come as a balm to her wounded heart 😊 , Plus I think somewhere some sixth sense is telling her that this man may affect her life in some way, which is why she is so defensive with him😉

yaar , anandi was behaving weirdly in the precap . This girl has tolerated high volume screams of gauri and jagya torture and didn't answer back for years. In the precap , shiv had just told that she won't be able to push that cart . She answered back immediately rather coldly . And in that well scene she was looking at shiv dreamily and he was like what he had said that sent the sarpanch immediately in to some daydream .

shiv's doubt was on anandi's physical strength and also he stopped her coz her dress would get soiled...and anandi answered her normally and i didn't find she was giving weird look in well scene
