Television is not an 'Idiot Box'

Television is not an 'Idiot Box'

Television helps in Progression and Development of the orthodox thinking!

Normally we see that television is always being blamed for the New traditions and Customs they bring in the daily soaps, as the audiences get influenced by it and follow too- hence termed as to be the spoiling box by people!

But is it really so? Or is it that it is helping to adapt new customs and traditions and leave behind the orthodox thinking!

When we see on the other side of the topic we get to know that though it has come up with new age living concepts it strongly conveys a message of leaving back the orthodox thinking and adapt the new free way of living!

Some daily soap play a major role in educating the girl child, ban on Dowry, not to follow 'Sati', freedom and rights of the girl child and women, action against harassment etc.

The daily soap Parvarrish - Kuchh Khattee Kuchh Meethi which comes on Sony holds the story of what steps should be taken for the upbringing of childrens!

Balika Vadhu which comes on Colors portrays the concept of married women rights after marital disputes.

Saath Nibhana Saathiya which comes on star plus conveys the importance girl child education!

Punar Vivah which comes on Zee TV potrays support to re-marriage, that can be after divorce or death of the first husband, as everyone has the right to choose their soul mate for their life!

Na Aana Is Desh Laado which comes on colors potrays that there should be a stop on child discrimination!

Uttaran which comes on colors potrays there should not be difference between the low class and high class people!

And there are many such more examples we see in daily soaps! So is it right to call TV as 'the spoiling box' or an 'Idiot Box'?
