So I know it's a way of showing respect, and it's a great tradition, custom whatever. But why is Hrithik ALWAYS touching his father's feet?

I noticed it during several award shows, whenever he'd won, he'd stand up and reach down there..
I mean look at this video around 1:43 mins, even in this rather ''private/rare'' video he is eager to touch his feet, why? Why suck up so much?

I just don't get it.

He shouldn't suck up that much imo, I mean of course showing respect is fine, but does it really have to be always? 🤢

Sucking up? It's his father. He doesn't need to "suck up" to his own father. He, like the most of us, loves and respects his father a lot and he just shows it in his actions. No big deal.

seems like he is insecure, constantly proving his ''respect/admiration'' to his own dad.. which is sad.

Wooowww!! 👏

Hats off to your topic, dear!

I have no words to say how disappointed I am. I would die for my father if I had to. I would do anything to take his blessing at each and every moment and step of my life. I cannot express how fortunate I am to have him in my life.

Couldn't agree more with the two of you. I also agree with you Ms. Reddy.

Its a habit..habit of seeking blessing from elders which is taught to us since we were kids. My marwari/North Indian friends always touch their elders feet, like this when they see them. Nothing wrong in that. Its a quiet common custom in North Indians(maybe south Indians too) .. When I see my elders I do a full namaskara (Southie thing) to seek blessings. It becomes a habit and we automatically do it sometimes.

Thanks. Well u know I too touch my grandma's feet when I see her, but I don't do it constantly, maybe that's cuz I wasn't brought up to do it constantly, and it hasn't become a habit with me? IDK.
I was never expected to touch my parents feet, I guess that's the reason why I'm not too familiar with it.
