Even though its kudos to Amir to talk abt a topic .. I dint even wanna listen abt (locked my door n watched it , didnt feel like watching wid my family)
ANd absolutely loved the workshop he did amazinggg👏 he showed us how to talk abt the topic head on ..better to scare ur kids a bit tell them about ugly reality than face the aftermath of ur children facig something and not knowing how to handle it ...
But coming back to the main topic this topic is not so simplisistic to be handled in one episode ... even though female infanticide itself cannot be dealt in isolation , this topic of child abuse is more complex.
No clear profiling of abuser ... I cant comment on it as I have not read much about it ..but I wish more profiling was available , more ways of how to recognise where it is happening and who is doing it.
Recognising the victim : I think a whole book can we writen on how to recognise which child is suffering it . Maybe teacher need to be given workshops on how to recognise disturbed children ... and child maybe disturbed due to many reasons
Parents reaction : I have seen my mom go red when as i child asked her what a sanitary napkin was, saw panic in her eyes ...this for innocent things .. ...but as a child i felt i had done something wrong on asking the question ... now just imagine a child going and telling his mom something like child abuse ...the first reaction of their parent will tell them that 'they themselves( the child himself) is doing something wrong talking of such a thing .
The lady in the show told of the 4 -5 v important steps of how the parent should react ... but they were said just in passing , no impact on viewer
Sex education: it was mentioned but more education needs to be given to parents about teaching kids about right and wrong touching
Councling: The two people whon in the end themselved admitted that they would commit suicicde if she stoppe dhaving anti depressant. and the guy saying he keeps working ... his voice was full of emotions . They need long councling and healing sessions ...but i wonder if such services are even available in India.
There was a helpline to report child abuse but WHO is gonna provide councling to victim and the family . Those two people shown were only breathing ..not living.
Special law : the law and procedure also need to be discussed widely ... rape victims also face the same trauma when they go for reporitng the case , physical examination , when their cases are discussed in open courts and coupled with how long it takes to get these people to book.
I think this issue needs more indepth analysis and spread .

Concur with you mitzification ! Exactly one episode cannot do justice to this sensitive subject. It's just an ack of the existence of the problem.

My opinions expressed over here.

Definitely One episode is not enough. But it will definitely add a flicker in the minds of people who really can feel it and respond it more.
Will add a bit/more of knowledge to all kind people why social cause are so important to be highlighted.
Show has taken this initial steps towards this.

Perhaps if enough people are affected it can set the wheels in motion to get our government to actively raise awareness and help catch and convict people who commit these crimes.

I'm not sure how relevant this article is to India since India doesn't convict and identify or tag pedophiles in the same way as western societies like US do. But it can help us identify the nature of a pedophile:
http://crime.about.com/od/sex/p/pedophile.htm

An extract from the site:
• He is often fascinated with children and child activities appearing to prefer those activities to adult oriented activities.
 • He will often refer to children in pure or angelic terms using descriptives like innocent, heavenly, divine, pure, and other words that describe children but seem inappropriate and exaggerated.
The pedophile will often be employed in a position that involves daily contact with children. If not employed, he will put himself in a position to do volunteer work with children, often in a supervisory capacity such as sports coaching, contact sport instruction, unsupervised tutoring or a position where he has the opportunity to spend unsupervised time with a child.

The pedophile often seeks out shy, handicapped, and withdrawn children, or those who come from troubled homes or under privileged homes. He then showers them with attention, gifts, taunting them with trips to desirable places like amusement parks, zoo's, concerts, the beach and other such places.

Pedophiles work to master their manipulative skills and often unleash them on troubled children by first becoming their friend, building the the child's self esteem.

Many times pedophiles will develop a close relationship with a single parent in order to get close to their children. Once inside the home, they have many opportunities to manipulate the children -- using guilt, fear, and love to confuse the child. If the child's parent works, it offers the pedophile the private time needed to abuse the child.

Many of them believe that what they are doing is not wrong and that having sex with a child is actually "healthy" for the child.

Almost all pedophiles have a collection of pronography, which they protect at all costs. Many of them also collect "souvenirs" from their victims. They rarely discard either their po*n or collections for any reason.
Some of this is so similar to what was related on today's show. That's just scary.

cool article simply purple ...
I know that these offender do victim profiling .. they dont just randomly abuse ...be it children or even sexual assault on women ...
the victims are profiled ...
and i read a gret article or saw a show where the guy himself told on what basis he profiled the victim.
And this topic was just touched on the show (of course he cldnt go into details) but all such topics need indebt talk.

And i rember some victim telling how they first win their trust and then start to manipulate that the person himself has a conflict in his mind .. 'how to think wrong about someone who u like/love'
Like normal touching and then slowly abuse ... so that victim dsnt realise when things start going wrong
Shit isnt it how abusive partners behave too ... first they trap you in their love and then they abuse you ... the victim is for a long time not able to say to himself /herself that their partner is wrong ... they give excuses for the behaviour to themselves.

Special workshop for teachers: When Harish said about being fidgety in class my mind went back to the blacksheep of my class the guys and gals who would always be a nusance , nevr stay at one place , be always late , and i used to dislike them as did the teachers. Now I see there can be so many reasons for those kids to be exceptionaly fidgety or exceptionaly quiet .. there can be sexual abuse , physical abuse, negligent parents, fighting parents .. fear ... so many things ... shdn't teachers be counceling these kids rather than keep punishing them .

one thing i would like to say about child abuse...not sexual abuse but physical abuse...would be... .sometimes we have dads who care a lot for us and do everything and anything for us but because of their family background and their mothers never giving them love..it unconsciously rubs off on them...they can only change to an extent for you...as afterall they have been brought up with this kind of lack of love...so even though fathers love you and you are probably their doll forever and forever..sometimes their anger and their monstrous side gets the better of them even though their child is not at fault for simple things like finding a device or breaking a plate and or feeling happy at home due to things happening at schools..their confusion becomes anger and their anger makes them beat you up for things as simple as that..beat you with a hanger...slap you so hard that you fall all the way across the corridor..fine..they have a monstrous side..fathers like these...but that doesn't mean they don't love us...they just don't know how to show it and actually fight with themselves everyday..so even abusive fathers have a story to them guys...not all are the same,...and we cant judge everybody..sometimes there are just too many layers to a story...
