The actress and her manager allegedly carried
20 lakhs cash for their visit to Bangkok

According to sources, actress Nayanthara recently made a trip to Bangkok with her manager, Rajesh, and make-up man Raju. On their return to Chennai, a few custom officials – acting on a tip-off from an anonymous caller – apparently grilled the actress and her manager for about 40 minutes.
It is being rumoured that they took about 20 lakhs when they embarked on the trip. The purpose of the visit, allegedly, was to remove the Prabhu Deva tattoo from her hand, which she had inked during the days when she and the choreographer-director were in a relationship.
Meanwhile, while the actress introduces Rajesh as her "cousin" to a lot of people, sources state that he is actually a person who does real estate dealings for Prabhu Deva and Peter Hein. It also seems that Rajesh was introduced to the actress by Prabhu Deva and has been retained by her as a manager.
A source says, "When they landed at the Chennai airport, they (Nayan and Rajesh) were allegedly detained and grilled in separate rooms by the officials about the purpose of their Bangkok visit. The enquiry apparently lasted about 40 minutes." Not much is known about what transpired in that time, but the question that's on everyone's lips is — what really was the purpose of her Bangkok visit and why did she carry so much cash with her?
When CT contacted Nayanthara, she retorted, "The custom authorities will not allow anybody to carry such a huge amount while travelling by air. I didn't carry the alleged 20 lakhs with me during the trip. And, I can't understand why a normal security check is being blown out of proportion. It's not just me; any person has to undergo the security check at the airport. And even if I had to remove the tattoo, why would I go all the way to Bangkok? I might as well do it here. I still have the tattoo, and if anyone wants to check it, they're most welcome."
