In the program, Balika Vadhu, what is being shown currently is against the law of India. According to the Hindu Succession Act, 1956, a person's self-acquired property is entirely his/ her own. No legal heirs of that person can claim a share in that property or demand partition of the same till the time the owner of that property, i.e. the person who earned that property is alive. Since in the show, it has been shown that the property is the self earned property of Kalyani Devi, she has the sole rights over the entire property and her grandson Jagdish cannot claim his share in the same because he has no legal share. Kalyani Devi has the sole right to bestow the property on anyone she wishes by drafting a will.

Moreover, since Jagdish has already committed the offence of Bigamy, the Singh family need not plead Jagdish for giving Anandi a divorce, they can simply file a criminal case against him. That would free Anandi from this marriage as well as send Jagdish to jail.

I too agree...For the stories sake, cvs are forgetting all about the legal issues and showing as if all the people are totally ignorant of this fact, including the doctor couple, who are most educated in all of them...! Today in India, even kids know about these things, as people talk about their properties as well as this type of issues all the time...!
They should show the reality to the world, about these legal matters, so people know about them... Instead of turning the story somewhere else...!

Jagya is not any normal kid...the problem is...HE DOES NOT KNOW ANY RULES and REGULATIONS...he married despite being married...HE DOES NOT KNOW that Daadisa has earned every single penny...NO ONE TOLD HIM...so he think it is all generational property...but now THE TIME HAS COME TO tell him that the whole property is earned...so he has no right...and throw at him the rules and regulation book...let him read it...Gauri and he can enjoy reading it...won't understand...then they will have a baby...guess what the baby will listen every night...the rules and regulations!!!!!!!!
One day the baby of JG will tell them that daddy you do not have any legal right on the property...then JG will...oh...we have been reading this forever and never got that one...thank you...

Finally someone in the show used their common sense. Anandi is finally going to adopt the correct procedure of law to get a divorce. She can claim civil damages from Jagdish, even a huge monthly maintenance amount of Rs. 20, 000 or something per month, since Jagdish is a qualified doctor in Mumbai, irrespective that he is unemployed; and she can also lodge an FIR against him for committing Bigamy, thereby leading to his conviction and imprisonment in jail along with a hefty amount of fine. Then we'll see who gets how much money as their 'Haqq'.

He has the guts to claim, "Saada Haq, aithe Rakh" 😛
