Why does PR keep trying to say that its ok for you to sacrifice the love of the person who loves you most in the world for the possible happiness of people who may not love or even like you?
First you have Archana hurting the man that loves her more than anything in the world and torturing herself for the happiness of 3 children that hate her. In the end nobody is happy. Obviously she doesn't love Manav or she wouldn't torture him so much a push him away. You would think that after 18 years she would learn her lesson and that her sacrificing has not paid off for anybody. Her kids are not happy, her husband is not happy and almost hates her, she's not happy. The only person who is happy is Savita because Archana is miserable. but even savita isn't completely happy because she sees the pain in her son.
The world would be a much better place if she chose her greatest love over others happiness. Think about it. If she had fought for her husband 18 years ago, she would have the love of her husband and her 2 girls. The only unhappy person would be Savita cause she lost.
Now we start the stupidity all over again. Purvi will be like her mother and sacrifice her great love for Arjun for others happiness. she doen'st want to break her mothers heart by breaking her mothers blood childs heart. But what she doesn't realize is that by sacrificing she's still breaking hearts and leaving everyone unhappy. She ends up without her love, arjun may marry ovi but he will not love her and treat her with love so she will not behappy. Arjun will never be happy or complete without Purvi. Archana and Manav will not be happy as neither of their girls are happy. At least if she chooses love over happiness at least 2 people will be happy instead of none.
Now i know that its not allPurvi and Archana's fault that thinks have turn out this way. Manav is blind to obvious and doesn't see that actions speak louder than words. How he doesn't see that Archana doesn't want his money and that she loves him just as much as she did 18 years ago by he way she cares for him and never accept his money adn just wants to be apart of the happy family. All he hears is that she wants money and doesn't care for him.
What i hope is that Arjun doesn't fall for the same lies and makes Purvi care about herself and that show her that noone will be happy if she sacrifices. I know there are plenty of evil forces that will try to pull them apart as they did with Manav and Archana, but if Purvi learned anything from her mother it would be to not follow in her steps and stand by her man and keep all trust him and always have open communication..

Congratulations on a very sound, comprehensive, and excellently compiled fact sheet on where everyone in PR stands. This is essential for any case analysis or assessment as to how things are likely to move in the future. I agree with most of what you have said; my few comments/ reservations are as follows:
1) DK: DK is a wild card, but the key to the way he will proceed lies in how strongly Arjun pitches his case. You would have noticed that after having told DK, in Hindi, that he loves someone else, Arjun repeats it even more forcefully in English. Arjun was, before his visit to India, not at all amenable even to DK's desires, whether it was agreeing to marry Ovi or staying back for a function. DK is used to this stubborn independence on the part of his son, but now, with a changed Arjun, he might think that pressure or emotional blackmail would work. If Arjun makes is clear that it will not, DK will have to choose between alienating his only son, and Ovi. I think he will then choose his son.
2) Sachin:I am sorry to play Cassandra, but for anyone to hope that Sachin is going to turn into Father Christmas for Arjun-Purvi, that is a pipe-dream. Sachin just might admire Purvi's strength and determination, and see her as a worthy adversary, but he is never going to LIKE her, or help her. I do not think he fits in here at all, except insofar as he might try to poison Manav's mind against Purvi, by stressing what the Arjun-Purvi relationaship will mean for Manav's beloved Ovi.
3) Purvi: You know, it is taken as accepted wisdom that Purvi has had a VERY tough time in her life, and you have said the same thing, comparing her with Archana in this respect. Now Archana has had an extremely rough time of it all along: from the repeated rejections on the marriage market, the bordello scandal that leads to the break up of her engagement to Sachin, and all the turmoil ot her marriage to, divorce from, and remarriage to Manav, right up to the 18 year long separation. What has Purvi suffered by comparison? Let us look at the facts.
a) She is orphaned as a very small child, and left without any relatives to fall back upon. But contrary to what happens to such kids in most cases, she lands in a very caring and loving family, and receives the best education and upbringing that Archana can afford. Purvi knows that she has been VERY lucky in this respect, and says so during the second Shiva Mandir scene with Arjun.
b) She is very successful in her job till the company is sold to Manav and Arjun; she is highly regarded by her old bosses, and given 4 promotions in one year. Not bad at all! (Incidentally, one has no idea how old Purvi is right now. If she is 21 to Tej's 20, and she has been working in that firm for 3 years when Arjun lands up, she must have started working at 18 or less. When did she finish the education she is so confident about? Of course the CVs give such minor matters short shrift!)
c) After the company has been taken over, she determinedly fights off any attempts to sack people on age grounds, and stands up to Arjun pretty successfully. Even when he finally gets her to resign, she leaves with her head held high. She is very angry, not crushed, and is quite confident of finding her feet again very quickly.d) It is only when her engagement to Vinay collapses that she is unhappy for the first time. I really don't see why she should feel humiliated by this as it was all Archana's doing, and there was no ill reflection on Purvi. Even here, she gets a very supportive shoulder to cry on, and Arjun gets her back on her feet, literally and figuratively, in no time. How many girls get such a(n undemanding) guy to support them in distress?
e) She mucks up an important deal because of a loss of focus in mid-meeting ' and whatever the rationale for her mind harking back to the previous evening, the fact remains that the company has lost that project. Any other boss would have given her a hard time for such a serious lapse, not wiped her tears and tried to boost her morale. Neither she nor Arjun might understand why at that point, but she has unquestioned backing from her boss.
f) The MMS scandal is her first brush with humiliation and heartache, but here too her boss defends her with ferocious determination and soothes her afterwards. What follows with Arjun is partly something self-inflicted by Purvi, and till the mandir scene, there is no indication that Purvi is anything but angry with Arjun, whom she misunderstands with determination. There is no heartache, as her heart is not really involved as yet. Or if not, only in a very nascent stage.
h) It is only after the mandir scene that she gets restless, and we all know what happened next. She ends up, in short order, with the kind of Prince Charming all girls dream of but very, very few get: not just super-eligible, but obsessively in love with her, and all humility and devotion where she is concerned. All this on a plate, without the slightest exertion being needed on her part.
i) The engagement party is of course an unqualified disaster, and I have backed Purvi stoutly wrt her reaction to what happened to her there. Her heart does indeed get stomped on this time, but the humiliation is a private one, and that does make a difference. If Arjun had made a scene (and I think he should have spoken up, even if only sotto voce), and Purvi's name had come out, she would have been, especially in her own eyes, in a far worse situation.
What I want to say is that unlike Archana, Purvi has not really had such a terrible time of it, except very recently. This is not to say that she is not in for a rough time in the near future.
I love Purvi dearly, and admire her as one of a very rare breed in Indian TV soaps: an extremely competent professional woman. She is now between a rock and hard place, and what I would like is for her to use her undoubtedly sharp mind to find a way out that would cause the least collateral damage
She will not do this, for there is no real dilemma for her; she will choose the tyaag option without a second thought and carry on, in the process sacrificing Arjun on the altar of 'sisterly' love. She will not see that she is doing no good to Ovi, and nor accept that she has no right to dispose of Arjun in such a summary fashion. She will not try to evaluate the balance sheet of what her decision will mean for all concerned, and to see whether there is some other way out. She will not tell the one person who could help her ' Archana ' what she is going through and why. She is so convinced that hers is the ONLY way that it will become the only way.
4) Ovi: Is it not curious that the only way we can think of to get rid of the Tar Baby of the Arjun-Purvi-Ovi triangle is to fall back of the good old 'sacrifice' staple? Only this time it would be Ovi's. Not that it would be really a sacrifice, for Arjun was never hers to give up. As for what happened to her, it is self-inflicted. Any number of young women must be similarly suffering from unrequited love, only not many of them can push the guy, at least temporarily, into an engagement and then cling to him like a limpet.
I do hope I have not disheartened you in the least with the above, or stirred up a hornets' nest about my head for my remarks about Purvi! I really liked your analysis very much, and the above is merely an attempt to amplify on some parts of it. I am sure you will take it in that spirit.

QUOTE=Axiom123]It truly is a very tangled web that the creatives are weaving! No heart is safe! Each character has or will be dramatically affected by the events that are about to unfold.D.K. - He's known for a while that something was up with Arjun but really just scratched the surface instead of being more observant as a parent. D.K. really loves Ovi as a daughter already and when he comes to know that Arjun means to put her to the side he will be very offended and resentful regardless of who the other girl is. He will eventually come around but initially he may not give Arjun the support he needs. How does he support his son?Manav - Would hate to be in your shoes buddy! Yes, Ovi is his daughter and the most fragile as they have made her seem but he has also come to accept Purvi as his own somewhat. He sees Archana in Purvi and supports her just as he indirectly supports his wife. Pitting one daughter against the other will be unbearable to watch. Who does he support?Archana - What hasn't this woman gone through? Yikes, this really is too much. After all the crap she's been through now she will have to take sides between her daughters? I understand some of her sacrifices have been totally unreasonable but now when it comes to matters of the heart how does she console two of the loves of her life when the truth comes to light?Tej - She's been the loving, untouched character unknowingly connecting the dots for them - Archana, Sulochana and Purvi so far. She's been the voice of reason for Ovi and the sister that Purvi never had. She seems very sensitive and sensible when it comes to these two girls - how will her relationships be affected when ArVi is uncovered?Sachin - we know he dislikes Archana (because of past hurts and Savita's influence) and by extension Purvi. To me, he seems to like Purvi even though he's nasty towards her (I could be wrong though). He respects her for he strength and admires her fire. After seeing this turmoil between his sisters, he may completely try to destroy Purvi or could be the confidant that she really needs (wishful thinking - but every character can be redeemed, na?) Where does he fit in?Sulochana - we've already seem how quickly she could condemn Purvi... will she support Purvi (with all the evidence that she has) or will she be so smitten with Ovi that she will immediately cast an evil eye on Purvi? Will it be the grand daughter she's always yearned for or the girl who has been the stand in for 18 years?Savita - I know where she stands 😆Ovi - my heart goes out to her. While I am an Arvi fan to infinity and beyond, no girl should ever have to endure what she is about to go through. Ovi's has always believed herself to be in love with Arjun and has convinced herself that he is the one for her. Even when Arjun told everyone that he knows that Ovi loves him but he's never felt that way about her she never gave up hope that he would one day be hers. She will be so crushed that Arjun loves someone else and even more so when its revealed that its Purvi. I wish the best for you Ovi.Purvi - We all saw her anguish and knows this is the beginning of a very, very long bumpy ride for her. Like Archana, her heart has been unintentionally stamped on many a time by those that are the closest to her. This girl can't catch a break!! How does one choose between the love of their life and the wish for a parent's love (especially an orphan)? Like Arjun, how does she act selfishly and choose her own happiness instead of those most dear to her heart?Arjun - Just when you found happiness it was snatched from you :( He tried to head off this situation as soon as he found his feet - even when he hadn't confessed to Purvi yet - and I give him credit for that. In his mind, he would have everything sorted out before any of this disaster came to pass. The Fates fooled you, my friend. How could he shame his father and best friend in front of all those guests? It really was a no-win situation. How does he proceed now? Sacrifice love for family? or vice versa?I honestly believe that the key to solving all these problems might just be Ovi. She's the one whom all these insecurities surround. All the pieces would finally fit if she realizes that her best friend is in love with someone else and accepts Arvi. I'm not saying that it will be easy for her to do that or that it would be right in her eyes to let her love go but you can never make someone love you no matter how much you love them.Eventually when the truth comes to light (and it will) how does our merry band of personalities digest it all? Will there be rays of hope of just a continuing comedy of errors?

Disheartened? Not at all! In fact, Shyamala (if I may call you that), I appreciate your P.O.V. and welcome your feedback 😃
To me, Purvi's character is a diamond in the rough. She has exuded strength and resilience during times of adversity and that is certainly what has endeared her to me. I liked Purvi's spit fire attitude and her witty repartee with her boss - although I'm sure those are distant dreams of the past now (sigh) and she has made a special place for herself in my heart as well.I agree that Purvi has, in no way, suffered as much as Archana (and hopefully doesn't have to) and I made observations based on the underlying story that Archana has always claimed that Purvi had many obstacles to overcome (not completely sure what those were). If only Purvi did consider fighting for her love an option... now that would be interesting to see. She will only get there once she gets the green light from her mother that it's admissible to pursue her happiness above all others or if Arjun is in a dire situation. Only then will she abandon her principles for his safety/comfort.I'm eager to see the next conversation between them and how this all pans out 😊Laurie
