He turned his attention to the book. He must admit that he liked this book. Maybe its time for him to drop the idea that books were only for lame people. He thought about his Bhai, whom he had always teased for his habit of curling up with a book whenever he got a chance. He would nearly get a heart attack if he saw Virat like this.
Suddenly somebody covered his eyes with his/her hands. Virat smirked as he knew exactly who it was. Other than him and Maanvi there was only a chef here. Viren Bhai had insisted on sending a Chef called Amit with him probably knowing about Maanvi's famous Culinary skills. He grabbed her arm and pulled her towards him. She giggled as she fell on top of him. He looked at his angel. The sun suited her. Her skin glowed, and the mischief was back in her eyes. The marks of various pricks she had endured had disappeared. She looked like how she had looked when he first saw her in hrishikesh. How could she be so beautiful ? he thought not daring to touch her as if he was scared she would disappear. Then it dawned on him that there were 2 people on top of a very flimsy Hammock. Why didn't it break till now? .He gently pushed Maanvi so that the weight on the hammock reduced.
"What..!"Maanvi shouted putting her hand on her hips and glaring at him. Uh-oh..Virat knew that he was in trouble. But he decided to push his luck by pretending as if he hadn't heard her exclamation.
"Umm..Whats for lunch?"he asked trying hard to be adorable.
"Air!"she shouted before leaving him alone and entering their house. Mission adorable didn't work for him, he decided, before he followed her inside the house.
He saw her inside the kitchen cutting some vegetables furiously probably imagining him in their place .He winced. Slowly he crept up behind her and slid his arms around her face. He felt her tense. He brought his face down so that they were at level with her ear and whispered.
"Sorry partner"
Slowly he felt her relax. What he didn't expect was her turning around and punching him just like she did when he had gone to meet her in Hrishikesh centuries ago.
"Ouch!..that hurt.." he said faking pain. But he knew that she wouldn't fall for that.
"Good!I swear Virat you are the most unromantic person that I have ever seen.. Tum kabhi nahi sudharoge..Bandar!" She said, her volume increasing with very word that she uttered.
Unromantic? He would show her. He picked her up without saying a word mercilessly ignoring her screams. Thank god Amit had went out to the market. Maanvi tried to get down often trying to kick him. But being the 'romantic husband' he never let go of her. He thanked god that he had kept the front door open. Slowly he carried her down the wooden steps. She started squealing when she realized where they were headed for. Thank god Bhai had reserved a secluded part of the beach of them. She was going to scream at the top of her voice when she hits the water. It was time for his partner to meet the beach

'Thank god she forgave me'he thought as he stared at her. The beach had done the trick. She was back to her usual bubbly self talking non-stop. They were now sitting opposite to each other, ready to have a candlelight dinner. She had somehow managed to wear his fave pink saree tonight. The candlelight made her look more beautiful than ever. And her voice drove him crazy. His thoughts were interrupted by the Chef who came with their food for that night. Virat smiled leaning forward. Suddenly he noticed the that Amit's hands were shivering as he served food to them. He looked really nervous too. Was something wrong? He looked at Maanvi who didn't seem to notice this. She was as always concentrating on her food He made a mental note to talk to amit and ask him if he was facing some problem.
Amit walked away from the table holding the empty tray, his hands still shaking. When he had been sent with Virat Vadhera as a chef for this vacation he never expected that things would be this bad. It was not without warning that he had been sent here. Virat's brother had warned him that Virat was undergoing treatment under a phsycatrist and that a trauma had unbalanced him. Virat kept seeing his wife everywhere. His wife who had passed away. Despite the brother's warning he didn't expect that he would be serving food to an imaginary person. He needed a raise.
