'The Tale of Hope and Deliverance'
When I came to the forum early this morning, there were numerous posts on the "suicide" track. I didn't open any of them and winced at the thought of what the CVs were doing to Khushi's character. Yes, the critic in me was ready for a lash out; to this point, I want to start with your last paragraph first. Thank you for reminding us to appreciate the talents of others, to recognize the effort and the time someone puts into what they produce. Each one of us who posts on this forum applies thought to what they are writing and saying. The same goes to the CVs, the actors and the entire unit of this show. Are we always in consensus? No. Do they always give us what we want? No. But we've watched this show because somewhere we believe in their vision; we believe in the actors we see on screen. I am a relative newcomer to this show; my journey with it started right after the Teri Meri sequence; I spent 2 weeks catching up, and was blown away by the screenplay and the calibre of performances! As you know, I have often equated IPK to a great novel; and, like every piece of writing, sometimes our inspiration translates to everyone, and sometimes, we fall short! It is in this spirit that I watch this show. I know the CVs won't let us down, and I, for one, am in this for the long haul!😃
Priya, what a Crooner, hun! You, my friend, got into the very crux of ArHi's relationship; what their love for each other actually signifies! The Gaiman quote just completely captures what this love is about! No, this is not about their attraction towards each other, this is not about what they've gone through in the past, or where they are headed in the future. This is about where they are right now. The culmination of all that has been. In this moment, we see a man who cannot live without this woman, no matter what his mind tells me. We see a woman, completely selfless, allowing her fears and her mistrust to get the better of her. Yet, she can't get away from the very essence of who she is: the ultimate giver. Her life is made more beautiful because of what she does for others. Today, yet again, only highlighted this magnanimous side to her. It also laid the path for what is in the offing: the redemption for both of them...more on this in a bit!
The Power of One--All the soul searching, the whimsical, imaginary, fantastical thinking into kundalis, fear of death, and such brought us back to Khushi's heart. Her ability to only give, and not expect anything in return. Be it when she bought plants for Arnav--selling her own ornaments-- so that he would get back with La, be it when she agreed to plan his wedding, even though her heart was bleeding for what he was putting her through, be it when she agreed to marry him just so that she could prevent her sister from getting hurt again-- every time it has been about someone else! And how could we ever forget the sacrifices she made so she could put food on the family table. Today, she was willing to give up her life for someone else just because this is what she thinks he wants. Yes, it is delusional, but for a person who has lost trust, who has lost the ability to rationalize because of what she has been through, we cannot fault her at all! Even in her irrational state, she only thinks of him. Yes, she screams of 'khoon', 'khoon', yet she herself is not afraid of dying, is not afraid of death, if that helps him!
Leaving a Piece of Her for those who matter: Somewhere in that innocent mind and heart, a desire to leave behind--again, to give--what she cherishes the most! A HOPE that she is loved by all who are mentioned in that handwritten will; she bequeaths her most treasured possessions in only the way she can! She starts with Anjali--yes, the one woman, outside of her own family, who accepted her when she first came to Delhi. Khushi's status, class, nothing mattered to her. The same Anjali who welcomed her into the Raizada family on Holi, when no else would accept her. The Anjali who is the most important person in her husband's life, and by that very relationship, in her life! She leaves something for the baby to come. Yes, she has been done wrong by that babe's father, yet she only thinks of how her gift can be beneficial to it. Yes, Priya, Khushi will always be there for Anjali; thank you for reminding us of how she protected her mangalsutra! The apex in that triangle, which will soon start to transform!
She then goes to Laxmi, her one confidante in the RM, followed by Naani...all the people in the RM who are now her family, even though she has not been fully accepted by the person who matters most! For him, she leaves the stars, so that he can always remember his mother, his parents. But moreover, so that he can remember that even in the most darkest space, there is always light! Maybe, that would be enough for him to remember her by. This much is enough--her most cherished ornament will be a keepsake for him!
The Play on the Conscience: The very act of seeing her on that terrace, ready to give up her life, will set the redemption track in motion. Priya, yes, he cannot lose her...yes, he will not lose her. He will tell her why he married, and she will finally have her catharsis and tell him about Shyam. Through this process, we will see how atonement and deliverance, begin. They say redemption starts when there is selflessness, a conscience, and the ability to love within ourselves. For Arnav, he now knows what is in his conscience--it is to do right by her by being a good husband. We now know he understand and cares for people who are not his own, but who have become his own; his stay at the GH gave us many examples, yet again, of how big his heart is! With no cost/benefit analysis applied to what he has done! Now, he will see the ultimate example of what it means to give...seeing Khushi on that terrace, ready to jump for him--so that he can be happy & move on with whom she believes he wants-- will only drive this point home! It will allow him to understand what sacrifice means when someone loves, regardless of what they've been put through! The ripple effect from all her giving will finally affect him, when and where it matters!
The CVs may have lost some credibility in parts while executing this track, but Priya, the second half of the show today made it clear what their vision was! And for this, I give them full credit! I have waited in anticipation for the redemption track to begin, now I am convinced it will be one for the books! The chapters to come, and the tales that we will read through them will just be amazing!
Fantastic moments:
I too loved the interaction between Garima-Arnav today! Sweetness personified!
The milk "delivery"😉 was just wonderful! Ah, milk has so many implications in the bedroom, but thats a conversation for another time!😉
Payal-Khushi's conversation was beautiful...the names of the future PayAsh kids just hilarious! Yet, we couldn't escape the irony in that conversation--that which Payal doesn't know...Khushi losing out on everything, just so that Payal has a good life. Khushi leaving no stone unturned for her sister's happiness!
Sobti, shaved & in white is a vision--I'm sure our buddies will be analyzing every angle & look!😆
Ah, we already discussed 'tum teekh toh hona'--just too adorable!!
Sanaya rocked today! What a powerhouse performer she is!!! She nailed every scene to perfection! Her will making scene was just so captivating, with a hint at the bittersweet!
I am not really in the mood to talk about any scratch my head moments or Bubbly...it was more of the same, and I will leave it for next week!
I am thinking hard on all the other "will" possibilities, and share my thoughts over the weekend; quick aside: a possibility for the crossed out K in the AR 36 K could be that Khushi won't be 'kumari' for much longer...😆 (Heyy, I was inspired by our convo earlier today!!!)
Love ya, hun...its been quite a week! Now, we wait for the picture to commence after the interval...😊
Would like to wish our buddies a fabulous weekend! 🤗 Catch ya guys soon!!! 😃
