Jassi's character, similar to the one played by Renee Zellweger in BJD, is hopelessly plain looking, insecure and in love with the pretty boy spoilt brat Armaan Suri, similar to the one played by Hugh Grant in BJD. There is a weird chemistry between the two characters in both BJD and JJKN.
And then there is the chivalrous knight in shining armour Purab Mehra, similar to the one played by Colin Firth in BJD, whose fondness for the show's main character is more than skin deep
