when arnav saw kushi at the door while he was talking to lavanya he was quite shocked and asked her when she got here - almost as if wondering how much she heard. no1 else find it strange him asking like that?

This may play a important part in Arnav understanding that Khushi did not once suspect him of having an affair with Lavanya (yes she thinks they are consipirng to kill her !!) . but him on the other hand only heard a half sided converstion and landed at the wrong conclusion about the girl he loves.
