The winners of tickets to the May Queen Ball were announced at a draw conducted yesterday at the office of media partner Gulf Times. The lucky winners are Edwin Antony, Thomas Isaac, Morvin Pereira and John Vergis.
The winning coupons were picked by Simon D'Silva, president; Martin Mascarenhas, vice president; Tania Rodrigues, cultural director, and Paul Fernandes, public relations director, of the Goan Welfare Association (GWA), while James John, advertising and marketing manager of Gulf Times, presided.
The 12th annual May Queen Ball, a dine-and-dance event organised by the Goan Welfare Association (GWA), will be held at the Ramada Plaza Hotel this evening. As in previous years, the highlight of the event will be the crowning of the May Queen by celebrities, and the Bollywood couple Samir Soni and Neelam Kothari will do the honours this year. Gold and electronic gadgets await this year's winner, the organisers said. A prominent music band from Goa featuring some of the key vocalists in the Indian rock band industry is being flown in for this year's function. DJ Glorio and event compere Updesh Swar are sure to enliven the event. The winners are requested to contact Gulf Times office for their tickets.
