'The Tale of the "T" Conundrum'
Ah, this was spellbinding, completely and totally! What a title, Priya...Indeed, a Midsummer's Night Dream...a paradox at play on every level. It was about laying the blueprint for that which is to come; what the winds of change are bringing! But what really spoke to me today was the tale of three "T"s--TRUST, TRUTH & A TRYST WITH DESTINY! The CVs mapped it for us magnificently! In conjunction with the three "T"s, the asymmetry between Arnav's thinking and Khushi's full-on Sanaka Devi assumptions was so evident! How we chose to interpret what they presented to us was our prerogative! The dialogues and screenplay were the stars today! Truly, a tour de force on the part of the CVs...now, two days in row!
A Tryst with Destiny: "Arnavji iss duniya ke saabse acche pati hai"..."Devimaiya tum dono ko hamesha saath rakhe." These words bring him to probably the most important realization of his life...what he needs to be for her; her husband! The window had a lot of significance here, Priya! He looks into that glass for clarity, in search of meaning for what he has heard, and what is his responsibility. Quietly, he follows what it is in his heart...it is time for amends; time to trust and make good on what he has heard! He decides on the first steps to correct his mistake! He notices she is cold; turns and shuts off the a/c so that she is comfortable: "Arnavji apno ka bahut khayal rakte hain" at play already! He breaches his own "Arnav Rekha" and reaches out to her...He needs her, he wants to feel her presence: His emotions are not contained...He holds her hand in togetherness...nothing else matters...the anger has dissipated, yet his face shows some apprehension! Her hand a comforting solace for him...He senses her removing it & is up with a jolt! Drenched in sweat,"Khushi" are the first words out! He will never let her go on his own! He will protect her come what may! The very conscious decision to hold her hand changed everything here, yaar! It is now clear that they will not be alone. He will do everything he can to keep her with him. As I've said before, after the MU is cleared, a united ArHi will do whatever it takes to get rid of whomever is in their way, be it Shyam or their own individual destinies...Today, Arnav proved he was ready for this next step!
The Quest for Truth and the lack of Trust: She wakes up realizing he has his hand in hers...No second guessing why! Instead, she concludes she is his captive...She notices the a/c is not on...Immediately worried if the load shedding has somehow caused this! "Maine baand kiya tha", he says...but why would he turn it off for her? Why would he even care? There is absolutely no realization on her part, no reason to believe that he could be bothered to do so! Ah, the paradox at play! Immediately, she wonders if something is wrong...If so what? Hamare beech dewaar khadi hai...a first clue into her thinking, a clue to us as the audience to think about Shyam! Her quest continues...She has his diary in his hands...He does not react in the way he would! His lack of "normal" behavior stumps her! "Lagta hai aaj Suraj Paschim Se nikala hai", a reference to Paschim--her direction...he is already moving into her realm, though her qualms persist!
His diary gives some clues...the first part of the puzzle for her...The AR 36 K(with the strike) sets the tone for her day! She watches him watching her...No idea that he merely wants to look at her...Instead, she is perplexed by his attention; it gets the better of her. No respite for the nonbelievers: an astrologer's twisted prediction becomes her own! She blindly believes what he says; the Kundali Khulasa now comes in play for us as the audience as well. Whose destinies will we learn of? When will we learn of it? She is not paying attention, she cuts herself! Reminiscent of the promo where Khushi is holding the rose dripping in blood...Again, a tryst with destiny is in the offing. Arnav telling her why he married her will be a cut unlike no other. Their destinies have always been intertwined, yet now the truth will bear a pain like no other!
The Paradox of 36: He finds her by close to the flame..."Tum aag ke bahut paas ho..." He wants to do right by her...Her words, his deed: "woh har kam mein humari madad karte hain...koi bhi kaam akele nahi karne dee hain...Agar hume choti si kharosh bhi aayi, toh unse bilkul bhi bardasht nahi hoti " Khushi wonders "gussa nahi kar rahe hain, lekin saaye ke tarah saath hain..." He wants to protect her; she thinks of it as an ulterior motive! A genuine helping hand to Lavanya by a friend is construed as a plot to get rid of her! His concern for her is taken with much apprehension. The complete lack of trust as obvious as the fear, doubt and innocence she holds in her heart! In my opinion, the references to 36 are only to maintain the paradox in their relationship...3 and 6 when written in Hindi are shown in opposition. Once the MU is resolved, the 3 and 6 will shown together.
The Pawns on the Board: There was a play on words in all the RM scenes today! Mami's hunt for the ghost traits just suggests to more of what we saw: opposing feet, a missing "hump", and no image in the mirror. I thought of Anjali here and what we think maybe going on with the pregnancy! Furthermore, cut to the chess board. Aakash asks Bubbly why she wants to get rid of the Queen: Of course, the underlying suggestion here would be getting rid of Payal, but again, I thought of Anjali! "Aapki saari chalein samaj arhi hain mujhe"...the plans are in the process of being foiled! If we think back to what Khushi said "raaz khulne wala hai"..." raaz benaqab hoga", the RM scenes made sense together with what we saw at GH!
Scratching My Head Moments:
ASR's diary has so many blank pages!😆 Clearly time to go back to work after the MU is done!😛
Tch, tch..what is up with the chicken scratch? Shorthand no like other!🤣 ASR thinks like ASR even when writing--cryptic & hard to read...🤣🤣
Ah, a young tycoon who still carries an old fashioned diary! Was half expecting to see a lock on it!😉
Payal's excuse for not attending Preeto's wedding! Hmmm, Aakash worked late on the day of her childhood friend's wedding; was it not possible to attend without him?
Fantastic Moments:
CVs connecting the dot in such a stellar manner while highlighting the differences between Arnav and Khushi...It was wonderful to see.
I have to say it, again: I loved the subtlety with which they focused on the trust issue! Oh, I've been harping on it for so long...it was finally shown so beautifully...he is beginning to trust through her strength, yet, she has a long way to go!
The references to "bakri" consistently. Clearly, Khushi has been made a scapegoat, both literally--in eating those cucumbers-- and figuritively, by Arnav in his fight to save his di from Shyam! The dialogue writers did a wonderful job showcasing this...I loved Buaji's line & her delivery the best, though!
Ah, La! So wonderful to see ASR as a true friend to her! Would love it if she were to come back (Khushi's in-house mirror?)😆
Haila, Arnav sans hair gel...what a sight to behold...that hair on his forehead just highlighted his vulnerability! It made him...dare I say it, human & divine! 😍 Loved it!
Performances were stellar...Sanaka devi in top form! Sanaya plays her with such conviction! Sobti was just breathtaking in the first few minutes...he completely got under the skin of Arnav! I also loved it when he was looking at her while sipping his tea...ah, those eyes could melt anything!
I wanted to post once the Crooner was up, but it is pretty late here & I have an early wake up call tomorrow!😊 I will add to this some more, time permitting...Sorry, I missed the Crooner, yaar...I look forward to commenting on it soon!
Enjoy your long weekend, hun!🤗
